"It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. What a lovely welcoming pub with good food. My husband and I have twice visited The Royal Charter before visiting someone in the home opposite. We travel up from North London and it so nice to feel comfortable when walking into a pub where you are not a localand even remembered from the last visit. Thank you So much

We visited as a table of 16 with only a couple of hours warning and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning.

Lasagne not bad but garlic bread was burnt round the edges. Service quite slow and wasn't even busy.

Quite a cosy, friendly pub. I felt quite comfortable even though I was a stranger. I was in the bar so can't comment on the food quality but I had a lovely pint of Mansfield smooth. Certainly not a pub to avoid

The whole experience was very positive. The meal was lovely and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The raspberry white chocolate meringue was exceptional and presented beautifully!
