Bull's Head in Kirklees

After a difficult uphill walk from the Manchester road (doing physio for a recent knee operation). I was so glad to see the welcoming pub sign. It's wasn't open yet (which was also a bonus as we could rest for 10 minutes). Lol After a very friendly welcome, drinks served and food arrived swiftly. Proper home cooked, fresh, tasty and hearty food. We both ordered the Hot Roast Beef sandwich and chips! Perfect fuel for my walk back home! Superb and well recommended guys!

Came today for a 75th Birthday. The staff were incredibly friendly and could not help enough. They even cut and wrapped the birthday cake! Food was amazing, the portions are huge! And the atmosphere was classic pub. Overall a brilliant experience and would highly recommend!

As the weather was so nice today we decided to have a little road trip and had lunch at the Bull.We have eaten here once before and again the staff were really friendly. Its Tuesday, so pie is on the two for one offer. I had the spicy beef and Huddy had the chicken. Bothe were lovely.On the down side, the chips had been previously coked and then microwaved. They were so hot we had to let them cool down, they were also soggy.What was an enjoyable lunch was let down by this.Guys, please don't give your customers old microwaved chips. I bet fresh they are super.

The best chips in the world!!!! The bulls head chips are the best hands down I've ever had. Also a lovely pub staff are great and the other food is lovely. But get chips!!!!

2 mains for £13 every weekday on one specific dish. For example... Fri night is fish and chips, another night is burger night, another night is pie night etc. The food is excellent and service is fast and friendly. You do not have to eat. The Bulls Head is a thriving drinking pub too.

Lovely country pub with delicious food. Warm and welcoming atmosphere and even a few little beef cut offs for our dog Willow. Big car park too!

We had booked for my mums birthday, we arrived on time, it took 20 minutes to take our order then 45 mins after we arrived for starters to come, one of which was wrong. We waited a further 30 min for our mains and one was forgotten completely, so the majority of party had nearly finished our meals. The green beans were raw and had not been cut properly, the sprouts were hard too. Service was sporadic and the young staff seemed out of their depth at times but tried their best.The meat and fish were lovely and rest of the food was tasty and cooked well.

Went for Sunday dinner with the family as we used to come here often before the pandemic. I ordered the salmon Sunday roast.was in shock when it arrived at the size. The picture is what I got. The only difference between my portion and my kids portion was one roast potato (I counted on purpose). I even checked it wasn't a kids portion and was told it wasn't. Very tasty but the size is ridiculous. All the other adults received decent portions. Really disappointed.

My family and friends came here for Sunday lunch and we all like the Sunday roast alot. I think it's the best Sunday roast I have had so far. Soft meat, well roasted sweet veg and the gravy is fabulous (I like thick gravy). Really enjoyed the meal and will come back. Highly recommened

We have been twice now, as only recently moved into Meltham nearby. Both times food was brilliant and the service (Eleanor/Helena) has been excellent. Today was particularly good. My wife and kids had sunday roast- salmon and beef respectively - and I had the chicken and mushroom pie; was unreal.Dessert was pancakes and chocolate for my boy (won't go into why my daughter didn't get a pudding, you can probably guess :) ) and me and my wife had after eight cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream - I know, read that back. Tasted as good it sounds.
