En Route Cafe Holmfirth in Kirklees

They were closed at midday when Google said they should be open, also they have had a name change.. not called En Route anymore but The Lounge. They were hard to find because changed name along with being closed.

Went in in the evening for a coffee as on Google this place came up when I asked for coffee, on the blackboard outside it said teas and coffees served here, on the menus inside there was a selection of nice coffees but as the person serving apparently wasn't qualified to do coffee we couldn't have one!! Had a tin of orange each £5.20, not recommended.

Local bloke, in my 50s, wanting to support local businesses, went along with 3 friends, but was denied entry as I was 'wearing a hoody'. It's 2021 and I'm a primary school teacher. Small minded - avoid at all costs.

Looked promising but unfortunately disappointing. I sat outside and was not attended to for about 20 minutes. I ordered a coffee (which was good) and a toasted sandwich which took something like half an hour to arrive. The sandwich was nothing special and was overpriced. I got no apology but a reminder that there is a pandemic (I realized that) and an explanation they were understaffed. I would gladly have gone in and helped out by making my own toasty.PS in response to my review I've just had a reply from the owner calling me rude and impatient. I wasn't rude, and I was certainly patient. The truth is I didn't have a very good experience at the en route cafe. It's a pity the owner can't take criticism. There is no need to get personal.

Went in for coffee and cake... There was a poor selection of cake, I ordered a chocolate brownie which I later found out was fat, sugar, dairy and gluten free aswell as vegan. This explained why it tasted so bad. Will never go here again.

Already been there a few times - alsways loved it - nice atmosphere probably helped by the great music played at levels allowing for conversation!asked for a water for our driver - look what she got!Great service!!

10/10 coffee. Very welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff too. Best coffee shop in Holmfirth I'd say

Lovely Cafe, sandwiches, panninies and toasties on offer there's a space for young children/toddlers for playing and also an area for Bicycles to be stored while your having your brew. Lovely experience

Took 45 mins for food to come. Poor service and food OK. Small salad with food and partners panini was in a baguette! Won't be visiting again. Service desperately needs sorting out big time. ☹️
