Met up last night with 2 friends at the bar, last night thought it was strange on such a warm night that there were outside tables free, until I saw how much they had hiked up the prices, bought two pints of a pale ale,it was over £5 per pint.Similar stuff at spoons £2.10 a pint.Bar staff apart from the young lady serving were absolutely uninterested.Stick to the Gray Ox in future.

Nice place, big garden, good value, they forgot my food order and were a bit grumpy when I went to find out what had happened. Food did arrive and was good just a shame about the attitude.

Me my partner, youngest son and grandson were invited to the George Bistro for a birthday party. What an excellent venue. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the bar staff who are excellent. The buffet 😋 was out of this world. Pipping hot and the sandwiches and fresh salad you could tell had come straight out of the fridge. Would definitely go back for a meal.

Went to the first comedy night held there. Few teething problems with sound and lighting, so was a bit gloomy, especially when viewing from the balcony. The promoter is aware so hopefully the next gig will be better. The acts were good but the fact that the George charged £25 for a bottle of mediocre white wine wasn't!

Held a small get together here with family and friends, brilliant atmosphere, they couldn't of done more for us. Steve created loads of pizzas served throughout the evening and a fabulous play list for us. Highly recommend.

Went with friends for New Years Day. The food was unbelievable. Absolutely fantastic and their own lager GB is a nice drop too. Can't recommend highly enough. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Brilliant food. Second visit. We had tapas, mocktails and desserts. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented too. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited on the off chance on Saturday lunch time, we hadn't booked in advance but we were happily found a table. The food we had was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and staff was friendly. Very nice decor inside and a very good menu. Well worth a visit.

I really like the George, both the wine bar and bistro are really nice and compliment each other. The garden is lovely and the range of beers and wines are well picked. The pizza in the wine bar makes a lovel treat during long summer afternoons. The bistro chef has delivered a menu that is simply brilliant and the food when it comes looks and tastes fabulous. The only thing to improve upon in the bistro service. Mainly delivered by younger, inexperienced team members it lacks front of house management. It often appears chaotic and you struggle to get their attention. On my last visit I was disappointed I had to ask to get served after sitting some 30 plus mins with the menu.

Pizzas are honestly some of the best I have ever had, sat right next to the pizza chef who was very nice and chatted to us. Only downside was the moody bartender but I'll chalk it up to him having a bad day so I won't give a bad rating
