Food was lovely, fresh and tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would absolutely go again.

Not what it used to be and won't be back. As a long time fan of Lala's in Wakefield (prior to Huddersfield opening), and Huddersfield since (as the chef moved), I was disappointed on my last visit (Oct 2019), but tonight (quite Monday in March 2022) gave it another try. Wish I hadn't, things had only got worse. The amazing venue is let down by both food and service. The chicken tikka sizzler is ok, and was on previous visit too. Garlic naan similarly was ok as was salad. That's where it ends though. Poppadoms arrived with the waiters thumb holding them down in the basket! Pickle tray was band. Mutton Bhuna was not a bhuna, way to wet. Meat was tender, but the curry itself was too wet and salty with spices not cooked out. Chapati were quite dry, as were the onion bhaji.Seated quickly on arrival. Waited an eternity for someone to order drinks, so much so that we immediately also ordered food, and asked for the starters with the main, so they would get straight on with cooking the mains to catch up some time. When serving, everything arrived except the bhuna and the sizzler. It was another five minutes before they turned up. The curry with the sizzler was not nice, and very very watery; wasn't eaten. Normally I'd have given a restaurant the chance to try again, but 1) I didn't have the time, and 2) I'm convinced this was already their A game so no point.Staff were friendly enough, just not attentive or timely.Sorry Jnr, never thought standards would slip this low and I'd find myself writing such a poor review. I won't be back as the journey from Wakefield is not worth the risk of disappointment.

Absolutely amazing. We went for my brothers birthday and were overwhelmed by not only the amazing food but also by how lovely the staff were. They made some great suggestions and were very accommodating with our order. I've always thought by how beautiful the interior looks that it would be mega expensive but it's actually really reasonable, I had a starter, main and drinks and it came to less than ÂŁ20! Definitely a new favourite spot for occasions.

Tried to book a table of 4 people, this obnoxious man on the phone said we don't take bookings for less than 8.... He then said we can come and wait until a table is available.I wanted to take my grandparents and explained because of there age etc it's easier if I can please book so it avoids any issues, his response was... Wait or don't come!Naturally I told him I shall take my money elsewhere.

Lovely food as always, best in Huddersfield. Dishes can be made to personal specs. Venue plush but my only feedback for improvement is the music is far too loud. In restaurant’s people come to socialise; it’s not a nightclub. It gives me a headache and I saw other customers were uncomfortable too. Course, I couldn’t hear them, as I couldn’t even hear the people next to me.

First time I visited the restaurant and for me just a let down experience. Ordered chicken pakoras the batter was dry and falling off the chicken. As a main I ordered fish masala which came in pieces rather a whole fish..my chips were raw and my side sauce bland and like water. was a big let down. Oil was dripping off the nan bread as waiters served them. had to look out so they don't stain my clothes. And prices are just sky high for the food what they serve. Sorry not my standards

Lala's has definitely gone downhill. I have been visiting this restaurant at the Huddersfield location since 2015 when I used to attend the university there. Today is the first time I have felt the standards were not existent. The old manager ALI was a very good manager who met all our big group needs. Food was not like it used to be...it does not seem fresh fresh and made with love. It literally is watery tasting this goes from starters to mains. The only good thing was the family naan! Please sort yourselves out as I would love to still come back!

Fantastic evening had at Lala’s - Huddersfield, thank you.First impressions were very good, a beautiful premises which impressed with its cleanliness and ambiance. I was greeted immediately by a very friendly host / waiter, directed to the waiting area (or asked if id like to go straight to our table) The music, bar and the seating area made waiting quite enjoyable… there plenty to look at. We had starters and a curry each (four people) not one of us were disappointed with the food or service which all came to a very reasonable price also, though the service was top notch they dont include a service charge which i always feel should be optional… though in this case would have been fair and we tipped without hesitation. 5*

Staff are very friendly. I got chicken madras, rice and a naan. The curry was delicious, no word of a lie. The naan was flakey and the rice was soft.If I'm in the area I will happily return here for my fix.

Absolutely fantastic, as always! Food is hot, fresh, and arrives quickly after ordering. The family naans are massive, as pictured, very fluffy and delicious when covered in butter and garlic
