Rose and Crown in Kirklees

This place is brilliant and amazing value for what you get. We stayed over for a couple of nights with breakfast included and had a wonderful time. The rooms were excellent. Clean and well stocked with refreshments for enjoying in the hotel. They have en suites so no need to worry about sharing a bathroom with other lodgers in the morning. In the morning we went down to breakfast and were told we could order any form of English breakfast we wanted from full English to bacon butties with a coffee. This included veggie if not vegan options. We liked the place so much that each night we came back to buy dinner. The dinners were reasonably cost and generously sized. I ordered a pulled pork burger on the first night and it was absolutely lush with the pork being rich and moist. As you eat within the pub the pints on offer are also plentiful.Thing to watch out for is there is a curfew for coming back to the pub in the evening as they need to be able to lock up for security reasons however this was perfectly acceptable to us. If you are aiming to spend your time here after a long night out coming back in the early morning then this will not suit you as a place to stay.

Lovely meal Friday evening.Great selection on the menu with lighter portions available.Staff very friendly and efficient.Thank you

Excellent host. Room was clean and well equipped. Highly recommend the food. Excellent value.

Really nice food, decent pint and friendly staff in a good location

Stayed 2 nights owner and staff spot on . Had bit of banter with them one night re different whiskies. Room lovely and food really good including a huge quality cooked breakfast .

What an excellent restaurant!! We had a table for 7 to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing!! Fillet steaks were cooked perfectly as was the duck and venison. The service was on point! Thank you to all of the staff for a perfect evening.

Excellent service from the staff. Food was very good. Toilets were extremely clean, my dog felt welcome. Beer was spot on, what more could you ask for!

Went for Sunday dinner last week, they had no Sunday dinners or mashed potato? Fair enoughMy 10 year old ordered a margarita pizza and chips, the kitchen sent out a burger bun top upside down with some grilled cheese on it,I presume the chef thinks he’s funny. We won’t be back,

Had a few days stay with my husband, daughter, and granddaughter. Richard, and all staff were very friendly, and pleasant. Our rooms were clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend it, and sorry Richard, but we'll be back 😂😂
