Rose & Crown in Kirklees

Their food is nice and really worth the price but I think they have a short of staff. Our food needed more than half an hour to be served and we were starving 😂It's nice to sit out side in a sunny day but please be awared that as the pub is near to farms, so you can not avoid bad smell sometimes.

Delicious huge portions, great service and lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed the Chicken hanging kebab, the guacamole and houmous were lovely.

This is a pub I spent a lot of time in, in my youth. Glad to say the food and service is topnotch, very friendly staff and owner.

We visited on steak night and tbf the food wasn't bad although we both thought the rump steak was a little on the chewy side but overall very nice. I was asked if I would like any other sauces I said English mustard please... it didn't appear,I think the girl was a little distracted by the 4 guys who had walked in. No one came back for what seemed a little too long to see if we wanted another drink or ask what we thought. Only have we finished, I think these little things could be improved and the start rating go up with a little more attention to the people eating as it wasn't fully packed and not run off there feet. But overall I would eat here again

Popped in on a blustery Tuesday and ordered 10oz gammon and was not disappointed, great chips , onion rings and everything came together brilliantly . Staff where incredibly friendly and polite and a pleasure to be around !! Plus wonderful views I don't think you could ask for more .

5*👌. Just when you think this absolute gem of a pub and restaurant can't possibly improve, they never fail to amaze and impress. The food is just perfection and the lovely staff are not only extremely attentive but always have a smile on their faces 😁! Also the views and the beautiful pub alone are well worth a trip. (sorry Dave Kennedy but I'd dived into the cheesecake before I took the pic 🙈😁)

A good view of slaithwaite and marsden. plenty of outdoor seats, we arrived 1:40pm and did wait a bit long for our meals. the steak pie was delicacy and plenty of beef steak. the fish pie was in generous portion, it would be perfect if had more smoke fish in it. the fish and chips were tasty and plenty of garden peas. sticky toffee pudding with custard was tasty.

Stopped here en route to Marsden for lunch and very impressed! Amazing views sitting outside and the food and service both excellent. I had the kebab which isn't something I've seen on many pub menus but was lovely and my wife had the Crown burger. Both really tasty and quick service. Wasn't very busy and would go back again if in the area.

Its an unbelievable experience walking from Slaithewaite to the pub.Several miles uphill.The rewards are worthwhile.Great views and location.Absolutely fantastic menus and foods to match.The lunchtime menu was excellent.Numerous beers and several craft beers, wines and much regular pub fayre.The interior decor is very comfortable and the atmosphere is traditional pub, but modern day.Highly recommended.Will be back again next time in town.

Good selection of beers and wines available. The food is fantastic and never disappoints with a wide menu on offer. Very friendly and helpful staff. The views are amazing and you can enjoy this from the large outside seating area. Plenty of parking spaces. Also caters for private events.
