First time we have been to Canton Chef for about 5 years . We chose a very busy Saturday night with all tables full and a very busy service . This taken into account we had a marvelous experience with great service ( with a smile ) and nice food . Even had a nice chat with the owner at the end . We will be back .

Excellent service, beautiful food, staff cannot do enough for you. Mentioned it was my brothers birthday and they brought out complimentary desert for him. Would absolutely recommend.

Very slow service... phoned for take away at 18:55, was told to collect at 20:00, arrived on time and paid for my meal, but didn't get it until 20:45! Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing.

Superb as usual. Had a lovely meal with friends we haven't seen for quite a while due to the lockdown 😁

First visit to a welcoming lovely restaurant. Food was good, decor great & staff more than helpful. Worth a return.

Lovely food and great service!

The Canton Chef is very welcoming, from the layout on the tables and decor to the enthusiastically welcoming staff and management. But nobody wore masks at all and the waitresses came literally inches away from us as they served or cleared the table, leaning over to add or take from the people sat next to the wall. The food was very tasty but I had the fish hot pot which consists mainly (in order) of onions, beans, tofu, 4 prawns, 3 small rubber like pieces of squid and 2 scallops. For starters we had a mixed plater which said on the menu £8 (min 2 people) I quiried before ordering was that £8 each, and the waitress said no it's for 2 people. When the bill came it somehow cost £18. They knocked £2 off. Apart from this I would go back again and just order differently as the overall attentiveness of the staff and atmosphere was really good.

Definitely a six stars out of five, the beef and green peppers in black bean sauce was perfect. Something simple like the portion of mushrooms was extra special with little bits of vegetables ( we don't get that back home ). Friendly staff and quick service, what more could you ask for.
