We was with some very good friends who we haven’t seen for some time I understand we had a few drinks but being on a larger table it’s not easy to speak to other people when we’re a bubbly group after spending 2 hours in the bar downstairs. We were having a really enjoyable evening but unfortunately some tables of 2 close to us who wanted a quiet meal must of complained due to us enjoying our self to much. We were told politely by the waitress to quieten down which put a damper on our mood which is a bit disappointing really. At the bill at the end of the night I’m sure the owners would of been very happy unfortunately next time we may think about going somewhere else. The service and the beer where to a high standard this made us decide to go somewhere else unless there is 2 of us.

The best food I’ve ever had! I ordered muscles to start and they where amazing and then the chicken forestiar which was to die for, asked for more sauce and instead of a small just like expected I got a bowl full of the mushrooms and sauce. It was honestly amazing and well worth the money!

Sent on behalf of Bob & Lynne GuyMy parents have asked me to give a huge thank you to the team at The Dunkirk. They dined yesterday evening to celebrate my fathers birthday. Both returned will full bellies and in high spirits after a superb meal.An overwhelming success. 10/10The food, every course was perfectly cooked and the tastiest they had to eaten. The staff were friendly and ever so professional. The Dunkirk itself is a beautiful building, very well decorated and befitting such a fabulous restaurant. In short winner winner guys. The whole family will be joining you, come the summer.Kindest regardsPaul Guy

Nice meal, not sure the service was up to scratch but may be because it was Sunday. Pudding was unusually crunchy to the point of breaking teeth (Apple and rhubarb crumble). Starter and main nice but fairly.small portions.

Quick bite to eat at lunch. Perfect. Great homemade burger n fries and open steak sandwich for the wife. Best steak for years she said. We'll be back again next Tuesday hopefully.

My meal was lovely, however my friend had the pie on the menu and it was overcooked and the pastry was really tough to cut. We told the waitress and she said she would speak to the chef. However, when it came to paying the bill we spoke to the young man who brought the bill about the pie and he said exactly the same. It would have been nice if they had offered to reduce the bill. This didn't happen and was quite disappointing as we had booked it because of a friend's recommendation. It was rather disappointing

Absolutely gorgeous food Lovely staff and just a great atmosphere all round.Highly recommend by friends so just had to see for myself and wasn't disappointed.

We've been very fortunate to be able to stay and dine at a couple of four star hotels this year in the Lake District and North Wales. However neither of these compared to the meal we had on Saturday night at The Dunkirk. The Partridge and the Lobster were cooked to perfection and the Creme Brulee was divine.Staff were attentive without being intrusive and the upstairs restaurant has a lovely ambience.

Beautiful pub we didn't eat but food smelt and looked amazing .. we ordered a drink and the barrell had to be changed we waited 5ish mins and they kept apologising for us waiting we kept saying it was fine not a problem, we were soaking up the atmosphere . They charged us for 1 drink which in my eyes is a good bar manager, staff very polite and very welcoming . Your kindness was much appreciated
