The Gray Ox in Kirklees

We booked a table for four, the service and food were very good. I had crab for starters and Steak cooked rare for main. I drank Wainwright's beer, which was lovely but expensive at this pub.

Superb...excellent choice of drinks and food menu. Delightful environment with food cooked to perfection. Service equally as good. A must place to visit for quality

Lovely meal - it is on the expensive side but it was one of the nicer meals I've had in a while , my husband had the Sunday dinner, which was lovely apart from the carrots being covered in garlic which you don't expect! Will definitely be going back in the near future. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

Best steak I have had for years. Cooked to perfection. The chips were yummy too. Will definitely be there again soon.

This pub/restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with a warm welcome the food is of a high quality and very tasty. The staff are very polite and courteous and attentive. Well recommend. 5 stars.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Boots and dogs welcome. We just had a pot of tea and a starter each. All good, with friendly service and an open fire!

Very nice meal - especially the starters and my liqueur coffee was one of the best I've ever had - hot and tasty. Service was very friendly and helpful BUT (on this occasion) drinks service was disappointingly slow, even my coffee and my friend's hot chocolate took a while although many of the dinners had left. We were also disappointed that our warm drinks were served without a chocolate. Although many restaurants don't give a chocolate mint with your post-meal warm drink, we find this an annoying omission.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends today.The menu choice was very good and the food beautifully presented and flavoursome.Service was excellent with lots of support for allergies.Highly recommended. We will return when we are next in the area.

We’ve just had an afternoon tea birthday treat from The Gray Ox and I’m really impressed. It was beautiful and great value for money. Can’t fault the customer service either at the time of ordering or collection, all really lovely people.
