The Scape House in Kirklees

We weren't sure about this place from the outside and what we would be greeted with on entering... however it was fabulous very quirky old but clean, friendly staff ,a great pint, good menu choices, quick service and the food was fabulous 👌 definitely with a visit.

Warm welcome, great service. Quality food. Good wine. Accommodating during their busy times to the best of their ability. Cannot fault this place.

When I first visited the Scape House I wasn't sure about the place. It seemed old-fashioned with questionable decor and certainly not the type of pub I'd normally visit.I was completely wrong about the place though.The best thing about the Scape House are the people, from the waiting staff to the bar staff, the management and everyone in-between, they couldn't be more lovely. (Paul, Jo & Gary, to name a few).The food is also excellent with a great choice of dishes that are simply outstanding. Proper pub food but done so well. They occasionally do tapas nights based on various cuisines and we've tried the Greek night so far and the dishes were great.They also serve a good selection of drinks, in particular the Malbec.The Scape House has become a regular spot for us now and will no doubt be for many years ahead.

Great place and food! Just finished dining here, family of 16 (and 1 dog) 😳 all the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Very well led by an organised manager 😃

My first visit hopefully not my last. Lovely pub with wonderful views. Great food well presented by pleasant helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch the other day and it was lovely. Nice cosy atmosphere with good service. The food from starter to dessert was spot on and cannot be faulted.

Beautiful food but not hot enough and small portions, had to ask for bread and butter to fill me up.The bill was over £60 for 3 people for just the main meal, dont think we will be going back. A bottle of house was almost £20, far too expensive.I personally could not have a dessert as im diabetic.Service was excellent but so it should be at these prices.

Very warm and friendly pub which serves a few real ales. The food menu is superb ant caters for all tastes. The tapas menu available on select nights is amazing.Becareful the traditional large fish and chips menu is like ordering a whale.Just wish we didn't live so far away as this would become our local.
