Lovely environment - well presented highly tasty food. The lamb was somewhat lost in gravy though. May be best to have separate gravy boat. Sadly insuffcient time allocated at table for 3 course meal for our table of 7. We were shown the dessert menu and told that they needed the table in 5 minutes as the next party were waiting! An alternative was not offered though on one of the other empty tables as it could have been for the short time needed.

Excellent meal on Saturday lunchtime: Not visited previously but circumstances dictated we had to move from where we had booked (due to power failure) and The Sun was recommended. It didn't disappoint. Lovely friendly staff and food quality was super, hot and tasty! Can certainly recommend and we will return in future.

The Sun Inn hosted lunch for our family group of 12 including 2 children today. We were able to pre order. Food was well cooked, served hot and was well presented by lovely staff. Nice atmosphere and warm environment, which was clean and covid secure. We will return for more visits. Thank you.

Expensive, tables only 2ft away from next table. Not good considering what's going on in the world right now. Food OK but nothing special. Ordered hanging chicken and chorizo kebab. Only 2 chunks chicken and 2 half pieces of chorizo mainly veg. Would not recommend.

Nice place, food is good but not brilliant. Beef was what I would call well done (not even a hint of pink) and was a little dry. Luckily there was lots of the excellent gravy. They were very accommodating as some of our party wanted gravy on the side, which is not their usual way of doing things. I was also disappointed when we paid £3.50 for pigs in blankets as a side and only 5 small ones were served. That's a bit of a rip off in my opinion. The cauliflower cheese was also £3.50 but was a decent amount but a little flavourless, maybe needed to use a stronger cheese. Huge Yorkshire pudding (as you'd hope, in Yorkshire!) and the veg (carrots and boiled potatoes etc) were well cooked. The price for the meat/roasties/veg without sides was about right. Puddings were unremarkable and looked bought rather than home made which is standard I guess. Overall decent but not outstanding.

What a lovely find! Took our 18 year old here for her first official drink and a meal.Outside eating only at the moment but the owners have installed covered decking and heaters and although it was a cold windy day we didn't feel it!The nachos and jalapeño starter fed all four of us and the main meals (a huge cheeseburger, 2 hanging garlic chicken kebabs and a Hunter's chicken) were all delicious and left us just enough room for dessert. The dessert menu is limited at the moment but with a new menu being launched the 17th of May we'll definitely be going back to sample it. The staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable for what we'd say is a mid to high end country pub with great views and a cosy feel.It won't be long before we're back!
