This is the best curry house in Leeds. Shame that they don’t deliver. They are not on JustEat or UberEats. I had to walk a mile in the rain to get the food. But it’s worth it. Portions are huge, can easily serve two. Price is very reasonable. They also throw in free chutneys that are delicious too, way beyond the box standard chutneys made in other Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant. My favourite is Nehari, which is basically slow cooked lamb. They do two versions- British and Asian. If you can take spice, go for the Asian version.

Yet again Akbars didn't fail to work it's magic and produced an outstanding meal... I can honestly say that the lamb chops are the best I've ever had, the curry's are consistently amazing, made with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.

Well Akbar’s Restaurant is one of the most popular place to be in for Indian foods. Although the foods are not completely Indian style but they do use similar spices and can bring out a nice aroma out of the cuisine.Being a foodie, our very first experience was pretty poor to be honest as we thought it will serve us Indian good in Indian style but we were wrong and we were disappointed. But when we as a family visited the restaurant multiple times, we could experience the great ambience, culture and great food made in their own style which is not completely Indian(one may disagree but that’s what we felt). We started enjoying the food thereafter and have visited ample times in last 4 years.I would suggest not to order a takeaway as you won’t enjoy the food like the way you would when you’re at their restaurant.Signature good and my favourite is Liver Tikka..

Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I have tried, in particular the Prawn Karahi was my favourite. Unfortunately one individual staff member was rude when I asked for the one of the dishes I ordered to be of a higher spice only to be laughed at and said “you’ll be alright so leave it as is” which I thought was highly unacceptable suggesting I may be unable to handle spicy food. I didn’t feel very welcomed and felt as though all was very rushed rather than a relaxing atmosphere.

Really awesome restaurant! Clearly popular as it’s a big place and every table was full!Gave the Phaal challenge a go! Amazing value, the dish was packed full of meat, potato and lots of incredibly tasty and incredibly spicy curry. The naan bread was enough to feed a small army, and also delicious!Great service too!Top marks all round

We went on a very busy Saturday night. The food was good, but I've had better. The chicken and potato balti lacked a bit of omph but the lamb dish was wonderful. I was surprised by how little I could eat on the starters menu when traditional Indian food is brilliant for those with gluten issues. Not sure if they were being very careful or substituting for cheaper ingredients? This why it lost a star. Our waiter was very efficient. The gentleman at the door however was very warm and friendly.

Do not order from here absolutely disgusting raw food full of oil. I collected a takeout was told I would have to wait 45mins which I did ..then collected, food 100% was ready earlier as it was absolutely freezing.Chapattis - Raw & cold see pictures I can actually roll them back into dough ballsChips - freezing coldSalad - old salad and wet not to mention serving off cuts you usually throw away.Curry - keema full of oil disgusting and chilli level request ignoredMasala fish - wet full of oil disgusting. Why serve food you wouldn’t eat yourself?Waste of my time and moneyAvoidAvoidAvoid

The chapli kebabs were soooo good, crispy and flavorful. We tried karahi ghost and butter chicken.. nothing to complain about.. maybe the karahi was a bit salty .. but still was not disappointing.. everything was great..would definitely recommend this place

Fairly average food, although well presented.Staff organisation could have been a little better.. However they were on hand when we needed and assisted quickly. For example bringing out dishes with no serving spoons, and having to ask for new plates and cutlery. This should have been obvious and all been brought together with no delay.Garlic naan didn't seem fresh and was dry as a bone which was disappointing.I think a little more attention to detail would go a long way.

Great experience with well positioned restaurant and high class interior, well matched and well cleaned; Good food overall but not impeccable, drink in picture is Pina Colada, coconut based with pineapple juice and a touch of strawberry, everything smooth and tasty and leaves a pleasurefull taste of fresh coconut in mouth after every sip so really 9/10 especiallywith spicy food.Lamb chops were the winner of the night, flavourful and extremely soft, really delicious to eat but would have preferred them with full bone and would have chosen some with major quantity of meat on 10/10. Main course was a classic Nihari but it was disappointing, it was well presented to me by their Chef in person but it was lacking of some traditional spices, the meat itself was tender and clearly well cooked but the gravy wasn't as well made, they simply added cut of chilli to make it spicy but that's not the way 7/10, Chapatis are really soft and a perfect companions with such dishes, warm and maintain their softness even if they get cold 9/10. Staff is really awesome, always present and will always try to fulfill even difficult client needs with a smile.Surely one of the best place for Indian food in Leeds but there's room for improvement that I hope will arrive as the brand itself is really great for flavour.
