Baan Thai Restaurant in Leeds

Booked for 12 people to eat here 3 week ago, got a text message 50 minutes before our booked time to say the chef has covid and won’t be opening. This has now happened 4 times that the covid excuse has been used over the last 12 month. I’m sure If the chef has covid the restaurant would have known hours before and not 50 minutes before. Luckily we managed to get into Samboka and had a fantastic night. Great food great service and great atmosphere.Baan Thai have now lost 12 customers who will never return again.

Not a good experience this evening, we have been several times and could never find fault, that was until this evening. We were shown to our table and handed very old and tired grubby menus, we ordered drinks and chose what we wanted. Starters were served and out of 4, 1 of them could be described as hot we pointed this to our server who said they would pass it in to the chef. We then waited over a hour before hot plates were brought to our table, then it must of been 10 minutes our mains were brought to the table on cold plates and again food not hot. We complained and 2 of the mains was returned to the kitchen to be redone, the chef said that there would be a wait as he had other orders to cook, we said this wasn't acceptable as we had already waited long enough.. The meals were redone and piping hot. We were told that we wouldn't have to pay for some of the food. We asked for our bill, when it arrived we were told that the 2 beers that we had were not being charged for we said that we weren't happy with this and our server went into the kitchen to see what could be done, she returned saying the most that they could offer was 10% off 2 of the meals which worked out at £1.50. The restaurant was cold, not busy and very short staffed all in all a bad experience and wouldn't recommend or be revisiting in the near future.

What a great time my friend and I had last night ( Saturday) The food was delicious the service by Amy and her brother was exceptional . Thank you we shall definitely come again.X

Gorgeous food and service, definitely worth the visit. The surroundings are amazing aswell, it will be lovely to just sit down and have a few drinks when we can again. Food is very affordable, and they have an amazing early bird menu up until 8pm

Food was amazing the flavours are perfect and so Fresh the Early bird menu... Its Truely a Knock out even if you don't have the early bird menu. The food is Up there with the Best.. Staff are friendly and cheerful 🍲👍

This place is great, it is just a really solid and good Thai restaurant. I always get something new each time and I'm never disappointed.

All I can say is you need to visit this restaurant, the food is great and the waitresses do a fantastic job. The manager will come and introduce himself and talk to the customers. We booked for 8.30 and was looked after until we left at 11. Many thanks guys for the wonderful meal and service...

Rich and creamy curry, paired with beautifully cooked rice. As well as amazing Pad Thai, well worth the wait. Would go again

Definately value for money delicious food and great service staff can't do enough for you. Cosy and authentic this place is a must to visit.

Never had a bad experience here. Consistent quality and staff very friendly and capable. Would recommend Massaman Chicken, garlic and ginger rice.
