CAFE RAIN in Leeds

Seemed like a lovely little cafe, lots of cakes but all I wanted was a drink and I kept getting asked, is that it? Don't you want anything else. I came from another city and was meeting an old school friend for a couple of hours. And every so often was asked if we want food as they preparing for lunch time, so they basically wanted us to leave.yet there were still a few empty tables.I was also short changed, so not impressed.Looks like quite a few people have had the same bad experience of rude owner. Even my children thought this was rude. So my friend and i had to cut our catch up short and leave. This is not good service to make people feel uncomfortable just because they only want a drink?The lady in the kitchen was lovely but the male owner was rude, I don't think I will go back I need to find another coffee shop where it is more relaxed and not pushing to buy more even when enough tables for others.

Best cakes around! Absolutely love this place. The owners and staff are fantastic, the gentleman always makes a big fuss of us and is great with my mother in law. The food is always spot on. Great place, wouldn't go anywhere else in Pudsey. Thank you all for your fantastic service, we really appreciate it.

The best cafe in Pudsey if not the surrounding 5 miles! Great food, lovely inside and really helpful and friendly staff.

The lady making the food was lovely and the food tasted beautiful. The gentleman who I believe to be the owner he was sat in the cafe making phone calls and whilst we were talking to the lady waitress he banged down on the table really loud to say we were being too noisy and I found it to be really rude. He wasn't very welcoming or pleasant. If he didn't want noise in the background then he should have made phone calls privately in the back.

Good variety of cakes,food and coffee is great,always get a warm welcome from the family run business.visit here regular when I need a treat and a perk up.

Visited cafe rain today with family and freind.quick visit today were made to feel very welcome. Coffee and cake were amazing also is the food didn't have meal today but definitely will when more time.had food previously always enjoyed it.keep up your hard work and see you soon very much appreciated.

I’ve been to this cafe a several times now and the experience is always awful. I leave it a few months and try again as I live locally and it’s still the same. As soon as we order, the man who owns the cafe loiters, asking if we’re ordering something else or leaving soon. I find him extremely rude. There are always a number of tables available, about half the total number or more, so I don’t think it’s a space issue.Anyway, I’ve been there enough times now to know I must take my custom elsewhere.The lady who works in the kitchen is lovely and friendly though. Shame about the male owner.

Had a lovely welcome from the gentleman who served us, beautiful food, very chilled atmosphere and the music was very relaxing. Will definitely be back at some point

My dad was being treated at the medical centre and I called at Cafe Rain for a coffee while I waited. The owner was polite, welcoming and gave me a piece of their lemon cake on the house to try. Without knowing, they made what could have been an awful day so much nicer. A friendly place I would more than recommend.
