First visit today, definitely not the last!Quiet atmosphere but very welcoming, some of the friendliest staff you could ask for and very reasonable prices.Top venue.

I'm sure this used to be a great busy place to go for food and drinks but when I went I was left a little flat. Don't buy the red wine stick to beers and larger. Didn't eat here so cannot comment. On a plus staff were polite

This place has changed significantly since we last visited a couple of years ago. Multiple TVs showing sports at high volume destroys the relaxed atmosphere we used to enjoy here. The cask ale that I tried was clearly old. We left without finishing our drinks and sadly won't be returning.

Unfortunately since reopening my once favorite pub has completely gone downhill. The cask beer is normally freezing cold and very badly kept, and sometimes past it's best. I have given it three chances now all of them have been bad, once a five star place now I regret to say a one.

While the staff were friendly and attentive, the cask beer was sour and the glasses absolutely filthy.

Terrible. This place has totally changed. The lager had cleaning fluid from the pipes in it. And the loud music was the icing on the cake.

Great looking pub/bar inside. Great ales on tap. Lovely area, looking over the town centre. Not tried the food, and not been in when it's busy, but the food looks great so will be going back. Seems to like to play sports on TV so will avoid at them times but otherwise great.Edit: Tried the food, absolutely lovely. Good range of food, definitely worth it.

As usual, an interesting selection of hand pulled ales.

Lovely place. Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and there's a wall of dog photos to prove it. They get the weekend papers in, so you can have a read while you drink. The term 'wine bar' as used by Google doesn't seem to fit - more of a real ale and good food place. Plenty of non-alcoholic drinks though, including lovely coffee (although they sometimes run out of decaff!)
