First we'll deal with the churlish bits.I am positive that I did not ask for slimline tonic with my G&T but I got one. It had that awful sweet but bitter taste of some form of sweetener. It totally spoiled my drink. Come on Kendell's there's good tonic out there nowadays. Also at less than 1m2 the table was wholly inadequate for four adults. The place was really busy and a few folks were going to draw the short straw and we were one of them. Never mind eh!Onto the good stuff. My wife was given a complimentary glass of bubbles as we were out celebrating a milestone birthday, a nice touch, thank youI was the only one to take a starter and I very much enjoyed the fish soup. It was topped off with garlicky croutons and gruyère, just lovely. Our daughter and her partner both went with the swordfish and had sides of chips and green beans. Both very much enjoyed their food.We shared a beef wellington. Top notch beef in beautiful pastry with a very rich pate and gravy. It was finished off with dauphinoise potatoes and green beans wrapped in bacon. This was washed down with a bottle of Malbec. A beautiful meal for sure.Sweets included, sorbet, chocolate cake, creme brulee and pear and almond tart. All were well enjoyed and were a great end to a fantastic meal. My wife also got a second sweet marked as bon anniversaire. Another great touch.Service was as good as it gets, attentive and available without being too intrusive. They weren't keen to find the side plates on the floor due to lack of space on the table and I apologise for placing them there. They had to go somewhere. There was even an Easter quiz for a little fun with Easter eggs as prizes. Another lovely touch. All four of us left with big smiles having just spent a wonderful evening at surely one of the best eateries in Leeds.Great effort!

Visited here for the first time for Valentine’s Day, after hearing about its romantic atmosphere. Firstly, I must say, I absolutely agree. It is absolutely beautiful inside with candlelight and dimmed lightings surrounding. Secondly, the quality of service from the waitresses was outstanding; very professional and helpful. I’d only tried their set menu for valentines, but the food was overall good and well decorated, especially the dessert. However, as to my critical pallets, I thought the beef wellington was slightly too salty so I had to request lemon wedges to neutralise it. The dessert was overly sweet, like every part of it, so maybe an addition of an extra dimension of freshness could really uplift the experience(such as fresh fruit). Again, this was the set valentines menu, so not representative of their general menu, but I will be returning to try it. Lastly, I was surprised the bartender wasn’t able to make a common cocktail off the menu, maybe they didn’t have a bartender for that night as majority of people had wine & champagne instead. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner, or just in general.

Oui oui oui! French bistro feeling restaurant with great service, food, wine, atmosphere. Fab. A real treat. Pretty reasonable pre-theatre menus. But we went nuts on the à la carte for the full delights. Lovely veggie main deep fried cauliflower cheese and veal chop.

Absolutely beautiful food. My partner had said on several occasions how good the food is here when she's been with her friend, so I had to try it! I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was delicious (even the mushrooms which I don't normally like!). Friendly staff, no long wait in between courses and the lady at the front of house (the owner I think??) is very welcoming. We'll be back again, for sure.

We visited as a group for a Christmas meal. It was easy to organise and Sorin was very quick to respond to queries and extremely helpful. Annoyingly you need to upload individual meal choices via an online portal which when you have 20-30 people going can take a while... but on the plus side, it prevents mistakes. The lamb choice on the menu got pulled between our booking and date, but the restaurant honoured the choice.I enjoyed the courses that I had, which were goats cheese and beetroot tart, duck on a bed of beans and sausage and a salted caramel and almond cheesecake. They were good sizes and lovely quality, cooking and presentation. I thought the £30.90 was a reasonable price for them. I would definitely go back, it was a very positive experience. The service was good, timely and attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant was empty except for our group, which was fab in these weird times. The only thing that was an issue was the toilets. They looked fine but they really really smelt. I am unsure whether the restaurant is able to do anything about it though as they are part of a building with other premises, so it is perhaps out of their hands.I had collected money from the group to pay a 10% tip on top of the bill, but the tip included on the bill was larger than this, I had to ask for it to be altered, I am sure this is pretty standard and on the menu somewhere, but I had missed it. The restaurant were fine about this alteration.
