We had a small party of 24 (was initially expecting a party of 34) and made a reservation. The food was okay, it every much depended what was chosen on the menu. Some of the sandwiches were great and very plentiful in portion, such as the chicken sandwich for £10.99(?) was probably enough for three people and other items were absolutely fine. Sunday dinners, some were served cold, without the accompanying sauces and others just weren't particularly nice. The staff were helpful to accommodate the group and reserved 5 tables close together for us.One of the downsides of the booking was how difficult it was to get hold of the pub.Initially they were only allowing a two hour slot, but we had people travelling from a far so that wasn't ideal. As such I said I'd call back to confirm. From the initial conversation to a few days before, so around 3 weeks, I tried to get in touch 26 times to discuss the booking. Voicemails were left but calls never returned. When I did get hold of someone I was told I would receive a confirmation email, but never did. So tried to get in touch before the day to make sure everything was booked in.Staff were friendly and we had a great party

Just been today and we had one of only two vegan options available. The Green One burger and chips. It was horrible. The vivid green bread bun looked so horrible and tasted worse. The burger was lukewarm and just awful. The chips were lukewarm. We would have complained but the group at the next table were kicking off with their complaints so we just paid and left. Why do they think vegans would want a green bun and an awful cardboard burger? Why would anyone. We will never go back there again. No complaints about the staff - it was extremely busy with small children running round everywhere - not great when staff were carrying trays of hot food around - and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Don’t let me even think about the ladies toilets- they absolutely stank, broken seats and excrement left behind! Altogether a very unpleasant experience.

A very traditional pub serving snacks - hot foods and beers. We called in for our treat of the week on Sunday morning. Ordered a large - small breakfast with tea.The breakfast was great value for money and served piping hot. The only pitfall was the sausages were over cooked. The tea was supplied in a tea pot a pleasant surprise these days. I will be returning to this venue to sample the evening meals and of course the beers at some point,

A huge disappointment. I travelled some distance to visit with my Son and 2 grandchildren planning to visit the wacky warehouse followed by lunch but the whole experience was very poor. After waiting 30 mins to get into the wacky warehouse, we went into the restaurant for lunch, the kids had worked up an appetite, it was now 2:15 pm. We were hungry. After finding a table we were told that food was no longer being served! I was dumbfounded! How could this be, it was lunchtime. No explanation was offered and we left with 2 hungry children and 2 very frustrated hungry adults. My advice is to call before you go to check that food is in fact being served or you and your family may be very disappointed 🙁

1. Lack of staff in the wacky warehouse ,1 young girl running it with a que and a wait of 30mins-1hour for us to get in as she could only let so many kids in (30 per 1 staff) as she was on her own, yet quite alot of staff in the empty pub section gathered around talking! We couldnt pay for a slot to reserve soft play either, to go for food then enter wacky after so could end up waiting 30mins to 1hr again queing to get in wacky2. Food missing from the order , when our food arrived at the table there was a meal missing, once we figured, the waitress did go get this3.Charged over, incorrectly charged for the food/drinks4. Poorly managed , quite clearly.

Just moved back to the area after a couple of years of being away and thought I'd try out my old local. The Lawnswood has changed a hell of a lot since the last time I was here. The place seems more up to date, more organised and more family friendly.Food was lovely, we went for the good old Fish and chips, piping hot and great portion sizes, LOVE the wide range of Gins that you now have in and my partner enjoyed one of your many cask ales.A lot of new faces behind the bar and a lot of new managers. The service was spot on, staff really friendly and really helpful. We tried and struggled with your new app but a member of management pointed us in the right direction. The atmosphere was great, you could see that the place was still nice and busy, my partner loves what you have done with the bar area and will be joining you for future sport.I am happy to say that we left satisfied with our first visit back and that we will be returning as regulars. Keep doing what you are doing and we will see you soon for Curry night

If you want fast, no frills food, typical cheap pub food, this is the place to come. It is what it is and does not pretend to be fine dining. Plenty of space between tables, clean with efficient staff.

I've worked in and managed many pubs and this is down there with the worst. Last few times things are out of stock, kitchen is out of service or softplay is shut. Come today, the list of what is in stock is smaller than what is out of stock. As well on what's on the image l there's no coffee, no carling, no Stella etc.Management need to pull their finger out. Since hungry horse take over this place has took a nose dive and is yet to plato

This place is our saviour weekly. If its going for some drinks with mates or using it as a haven to take the kids. Wacky warehouse and outside play area. Great selection of drinks, fantastic pints, great food, great value, friendly staff. 100% recommended this pub to anyone.
