Number 9 in Leeds

Me and my girlfriend came here every now and again, food was always really nice and the staff were friendly. Our favourite was the vegan sausage and mushroom sandwich, being in a small town it was nice to find somewhere close to home that provided veggie/vegan options. So why 2 stars? This morning we were waiting to order, there was one other guy in there and the owner (I think, he usually makes the food), as we walked in we caught the end of a conversation "jumping on the vegan bandwagon" didn't think much of it, didn't know what the conversation was about initially. However, it continued - talking about how someone he knows is vegan and does her shopping in supermarkets, but do you really know what's in vegan pulled pork and sausage etc (I mean..yes bcos read the ingredients??? Do YOU know exactly what's in a regular sausage??). It made us feel really uncomfortable that we would then be ordering a vegan sandwich after listening to them both ridicule that type of food and the people who eat it, so we left and likely won't return. Choosing to be vegan is a dietary and lifestyle choice, why does it matter to other people, if you don't want to eat it then don't but don't critique other people's choices. For those of you that think I'm just another vegan complaining, this stuff wouldn't usually bother me bcos personal choices, but they way they were speaking was just uncalled for, especially for a cafe that actually caters to said "bandwagon".

I absolutely love this place...I'm always made to feel welcome 😊 even if I haven't been for a while ...such was the case...the menu is vast and consists of a wide range of hot and cold meals.I was treated to a free croissant and a sample of their homemade pastrami.Would totally recommend a visit for a coffee ☕...The owner is Pete and is a friendly jolly chap ...say hello to him from me if you pay them a visit.

Great tasting coffee and panini’s on point and amazing. Lovely friendly staff too and they give you a biscotti with your hot drinks which is a nice touch 👌🏼

Chance find in Horsforth - had half an hour to get a coffee and a bite to eat. This place had a bit of a queue but I now know the reason - it's very good. Excellent coffee and a nice wrap. Very pleasant staff. I'll certainly make a point of returning here when I can.

Food is great from here! Always fresh and really tasty. Good value for money too. Staff friendly. Sometimes can be a bit of a wait but that's a testament to the popularity of the deli. Repeat customer and will repeat a lot

What a selection! I could eat here everyday for a month and try something new. We had a meatball flatbread and chicken and guacamole sandwich. We had to eat them in two sittings and both were 4 quid which is amazing value. Can't wait to go back.

Called in to get 2 Flat Whites as refreshment whilst on bike ride. Freezing today. Friendly reception, lovely looking selection and great coffee made even better by two scrummy FREE croissants. Shame it is 10 miles from home!

Tried the place Oct 20 after discovering it, never been anywhere since. I'm even getting orders from my work colleagues to pick them up there lunches as they got lunch envy at my club sandwich.

This was a great cafe at one point, but from the last two visits I won’t be returning. The breakfast sandwiches are poor, first time around the bacon was disgusting and second time around the bread was stale. I also find the service quite poor, not much care given to customers. Looks great on the outside, but poor experience on the inside. A real shame.

Just been to Number 9 for a well done crispy bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast. I finally got what I wanted. Most places find it hard to do crispy bacon for some reason! Not here - it was perfect. The yolk just slightly runny as well. Absolutely delicious. I will certainly be visiting here more in the future. Whilst waiting was looking at some of the delicious sandwiches they have on offer - all looking really good and spotlessly clean as well. Thanks Pete!
