Seven Arts Bar and Cafe in Leeds

Came here for a folk night and it was such a wonderful experience. The events space is a cozy, intimate setting with great live music. Good wine and the pizzas looked fantastic! (Sadly didn't have time to try one, but will next time). The hosts were welcoming and informative and honestly, I cannot wait to return!

7 Arts puts on lots of events but the acoustics are poor in the bar area. The ceiling is low and it gets noisy quickly. There is a focus on niche modern jazz. Food is served and drinks including fresh coffee are available. Don't stay too long on your laptop without buying another drink or the management might have a word with you. There are interesting discussions about psychology and science.

I love this place. Really informal. Lovely bar. Great comedy club each month. Music and theater in between.What more could you want?!

We adore coming here regularly for coffee as a group. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and there is plenty of room for us + babies. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I've given Seven Arts 5 stars but it's both fabulous and frustrating at the same time. Non-for-profit venture with amazing professional theatre featuring eclectic range of acts. Superb cafe/bar with well kept real ales and kitchen.So what's not to like? Well, the bar used to serve food in the evening which was generally pretty good. But if it was a quiet night, the kitchen would often close early. Keep closing early and people stop coming. They now have pop-up kitchens on a weekend (catering vans). What a waste of a kitchen. The bar also closes early if it's quiet (see above) and doesn't open during the week until Wednesday now.I've seen some stunning acts in the theatre but there can be some woeful ones when the audience will only be a few friends of the 'artist'.The problem seems to be the not-for-profit ethos which whilst commendable, seems to lead them to think that it doesn't matter if they don't make money which is a shame as that money goes to fund the facilities there.It's in a prime location yet massively under-used. I will of course be back: I love it in there and hopefully you'll be open when I'm passing!

A lovely cafe, its really clean and looks amazing, its quite small inside though it still has plenty of seats and even a couple sofas. There's also a seating area outside if its a nice day. I really enjoyed my visit and the hot chocolate was lovely.

Consistently one of our favourite places, even when that week's guest kitchen isn't anything we fancy. Great range of drinks, friendly staff. Love it.

Really damn fun. Nice and friendly atmosphere in the bar and seating area super cute little venue. There's a hidden stage room in the back where sometimes events and things are held, and we came on a night with improv! It was hilarious! Would recommend to anyone thinking of coming here, come on a improv comedy night. Or any night. Really nice place, and nice staff!
