Shanghai in Leeds

Food didn't turn up after we payed for it. Didn't want it anyway, it stunk last time and the beef was like wet carpet.

A really great place. One of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever had in Leeds, been back alot of times now. There is always a big range of fresh and crunchy vegetables, it's very disappointing when all you get from places is a bit of onion and some pepper but they put loads of different veg in. The prawns are huge. Always fast delivery. Very happy with their food and service.* Edit - the photo on the left is the king prawn garlic and chilli that I get most of the time, unfortunately have just ordered the same meal and received the right photo, still great prawns but basically just onions and one bit of pepper, and a very different sauce. Previously there would be onion, babycorn, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, pepper, mange tout, chillies and pak choi in it. I wanted to email directly rather than put on here but there was no way of contacting so I called them and I dont feel like it was very successful or acknowledged. Very disappointed that its changed I will probably try elsewhere in future now.

Appalling Chinese takeaway food matched by their appalling customer service. The worst tasting Chinese food that I have ever ordered. I tried to call and offer polite feedback. The call was handled terribly. Avoid.

The food took around two hours to come. When I called up to see where my order was they were quite rude and just said “it’s gone it’s gone”. When my order arrived the food was cold.Overall I just think it was really poor quality and I probably will not be ordering from here again. It sounds like recently I got new owners so this is probably not a place to visit anymore.

Originally I liked the place but the portions got smaller after a while, delivery took longer and were not polite when u spoke to them, then they decided to charge a service charge on top of the delivery and charge you for the bag they brought it in...back to Cherry Tree for me, better all round...

Just ordered £30 worth of cold inedible food and waited patiently for over an hour and a half despite being told it would arrive within 45 minutes.The driver got lost twice and had to ring to be guided to us, then laughed as he said 'better eat that quickly, it'll be cold'.Rang this 'lovely' place to advise the food was cold to be told 'the driver says it felt warm and we won't be doing anything about it'.When I told them i was going to leave a review they laughed saying 'yeah yeah yeah' and hung up on us.Avoid this place like the plague. Plenty of decent takeaways in Leeds, just not this one.

If I could rate 0 I would the absolute worst takeaway I’ve ever ordered from the order came 2 hours late the food was cold the order was wrong and the food made me wanna throw up just looking at. Whoever runs this places must have some loose screws in there head and must be the biggest scum in the world. I would rather eat food from the bin.

We ordered from Shanghai Chinese on Uber eats as we have eaten from them in the past and we loved the food. We decided to preorder for 7-7:30 on the app around lunchtime the same day. We were really looking forward to it and at 9:15 we were still waiting and had a notification that they had cancelled our order. Not impressed and ordered from somewhere else instead. Don’t expect to preorder and then be cancelled 2 hours+ later, they clearly knew before that they weren’t delivering our food.

Really nice food. For the last few years we've rarely ordered chinese food as frequently disappointed. Shanghai is authentic chinese takeaway. All freshly cooked with good portions. Best chinese food I've ordered in at least 10 years in Leeds. Delicious.

Me and a colleague decided to give it a go, have always walked past this place but today was the day we fancied Chinese.Was served by a lovely young lady who introduced us to the lunchtime menu.Decided to both go for the set meal 1B dish, this way we got to try a number of different dishes.Food was lovely and you get a really good portion.Highly recommend this Chinese and we will be coming back.
