The best salt and pepper chips, I eat them every single Sunday.

3 years ago I gave this place a 5 star review. More recently have had a few issues, food not being made as described, items on order being taken down wrong. No biggie, these things happen. However a week or so ago we rang up to order and asked if the vegetable curry from the vegetarian section could be made vegan. Guy on phone said it can but not tonight as they're too busy. I asked what he meant and he said its made with chicken stock normally and they're too busy to make it different tonight. What?? So it's not even vegetarian?? Basically the guy just refused to make us food that was listed on the menu (vegetable curry from the vegetarian section of the menu) because they were 'too busy'. It's really put us off going here and we would normally go about twice a month before. They usually always make things vegan for us on request but lately they've been telling us the stuff we've been ordering can't be made vegan so we're not sure why they told us it was in the first place.

Best Chinese in leeds. We travel 15 mins to collect… haven’t found anywhere comparable.

Great service. Had a good laugh with the owner. The food was fine but drops a star because some of my chips were red hot but others were completely cold. And I mean totally cold. I have no idea how this could happen.

This Chinese has alot of dishes and will customise if it doable. They offer vegetarian options, and meat dishes usually come in pork, chicken, prawn, char sui and special. Most main dishes come with chips or rice, or for an additional fee fried rice or soft noodles. Here does the lovely thin soft noodles with the onion and beansprouts not the fat ones. They usually take about 20 minutes from ringing to collect. They don't deliver but its well worth the visit.

There's a reason why this business is so busy - the food is incredible and the portion sizes are huge. Every dish is unique and bursting with flavour and love. You may have to wait for your order - this takeaway is always ran off its feet. The owner has always treated me fairly and if I have had to wait, then I've popped to the local for a quick drink, to any of the local shops or lovely walks in Chapel Allerton. Is a wait for your food really that bad or hard to understand when people are literally queuing out of the door? When did we get so privileged? My main response is that its nice to see a local small business so busy - the owners deserve it. This is a small local business and they can be so busy that you can't get through on the phones. People should try to be understanding of this. The owner doesn't like to turn anyone away and they typically do an amazing job of their customer service, hiring 2+ new members of staff over lockdown to cater for this in their small premises which is bursting at the seams. If you can't deal with a wait then go to a chain - this is a booming local business and a little bit of understanding and patience goes a long way during busy periods. These people are always ran off their feet and its lovely to see, but also as a customer we have to be understanding when small business are in a major growth stage. Primarily, this is lovely to see, but inherently and inevitably you may experience delays in busy periods. If your time is so precious that you can't wait for your food, then your time must be really important. Which if you are anything other than a life saving professional, then really its not that important is it? Incredible food, lovely owners. Treat them with respect and understanding and you will become a valued customer and friend. You will receive nothing but respect back and a portion of the best value tastiest Chinese food in Leeds (and probably within Yorkshire). Keep up the good work guys and thank you for managing to keep up with orders as I know you are insanely busy at the moment!

We had to wait 20 minutes longer than the advised collection time. The only fresh items were the spring rolls, which they had clearly forgotten. So everything else was lukewarm and soggy. Soggy chips. Soggy chicken balls and dry prawn toast. Oh, and the tofu was pretty bland too. Won't be returning.

The food here is Amazing, lovely, tasty dishes.I don't often have takeaway dishes but this is my found place .I've been overseas and wanted to return to try Chinese takeaway like it used to taste 20yrs ago . Beautiful. No quadruple slimy fried chicken as I have experienced locally. Nothing negative to say 😁

Been using the place for many years and it is faultless. Hong and the team are lovely and the food is exceptional. One of the only places I know that serves the classic prawn meat stuffing with roast duck, just the original Chinese restaurant in Leeds on the 1970’s - which was the jumbo. I cannot name a poor dish where it is not better than any other local or national takeout we have tried since the 1970’s. Also the prawn meat and ham roll, another classic you just done see, is outstanding.

I am posting as ignore the disgruntled recently posted.I hardly ever order takeaway as we always cook at home - cheaper and tastes better. However, on the rare occasion we do then we always order from this Chinese. It is a quite a drive from our house 25 min or so but really worth the drive. Sometimes we are kept waiting, most times it is ready within minutes of arrival as the lady over the phone always states and expected pick up time.To be honest, the world just lacks patience - if you have to wait then you wait as you are always guaranteed to have a hot, freshly prepared tasty meal with decent portion sizes. I think if you decide not to go then it is your loss as you are missing out on the best takeaway Chinese food in Leeds.Thank you Silver Vase.
