Thai Thonkaen in Leeds

We went here because of the good reviews on google. It was very busy when we were there, got there by around 7.45pm but the food didn’t come until 8.15pm. The place has a nice cozy settings. The food is good, portion is rather small but reasonable with the price. Recommend you try anything from the crispy pork belly section. Staffs were amazing, didn’t catch her name tho but everyone all seemed really nice. Would come back again.

Ordered from a home delivery service, food was very tasty. Ordered what we thought would be meals for two, in reality, we paid top restaurant prices for 1/3rd portions. Called the restaurant to complain having spent £37 on two mains (1/3rd portions), 1/2 portion of rice and a very small starter. Manager advised he would refund a portion back to my account but hasn't done so. Would not use again.

Lovely little basement restaurant can’t fault it went for dinner on New Year’s Eve food was delicious and even though it was busy it came fairly fast was a little wait on the cocktails but our waitress told us so ordered a coup other drinks for the wait will definitely try come again when in Leeds again

We were recommended to Phranakhon by a friend. The food was so delicious! I love the small plates it's a great way of trying different dishes. Very friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

Me and my 2 friends went to this lovely basement restaurant in leeds last night. It really is a gem the staff so friendly and polite. It is a little dark but it complemented the setting lovely and am here for the food 😀 it certainly didn’t disappoint. 3 dishes each plus rice 2 bottles of wine and a complimentary cocktail! We asked for a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu but they didn’t want to disappoint us so made us a special cocktail.Anyway food amazing and we can’t wait to ho back. Honestly try this place you won’t regret it 👍

Great taste. Not really the Thai style, kinda get localised cuisine but tastes great. Tapas are reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Only four stars is because of the atmosphere. A bit too dark. And somewhere around table areas smells unpleasant - it needs a deep clean.

This is a lovely little Thai place tucked away in the basement level on York Street. It was recommendeded to me by a friend and it definitely lived up expectations.The food was served promptly and the chicken, duck and seafish dishes were particularly good The only down side was that there were no lamb dishes and cocktails available on the day.would recommend if you are in the area

Amazing Thai restaurant! I’ve been to the one in York York, and I rated it 5 star, this one didn’t disappoint me. Amazing food, lovely staff, and a great environment. Highly recommended!
