Great local pub. Dog friendly. Guest ales. Friendly staff.

I specifically came here for lunch because I enjoyed my last lunch here. Again I was very impressed. I had the smashed burger which didn't disappoint. The burger was juicy and delicious (I added blue cheese and onion rings) the onion rings were fresh, the batter was crisp, the chips crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside and the fresh slaw was tasty and lightly dressed.The chef obviously cooks with passion and with an attention to detail not only in taste and with flavour combinations but also with the presentation.

Always come to this pub in summer time with my family and it's a lovely pub but disappointed on the Sunday service with food today. We booked a table for 2.30 and yes I get it was very busy but to be waiting well over and hour and half for food is not acceptable. We asked how long our food was going to be to be told I will find out and be told it wouldn't be long. In the mean time other customers that got there quite a while after us got their food first? Clearly I think they forgot about our order at that point. If that was the case why not just tell us that? I understand mistakes happen. In all fairness the food was ok just would like to be told what's going on.

Very nice. Clean and well presented. The staff were lovely and the coffee was a nice big one freshly made.

Nice little pub, selection of good real ales. Didnt have a meal so cant comment on the food. Good location by the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

An absolutely lovely pint of Guinness Well worth the hour & half walk along the canal out of Leeds. But maybe next time I'll catch the train to Kirkstall forge less than a 10 minutes walk away.

Nice atmosphere very cosy,food was all nice fresh,cooked perfect nice food,great prices,service was nice very friendly staff.nice for Christmas drinks mulled wine available 😀

Very cosy, pleasant and affordable. Feels like a friendly and traditional pub. Sunday lunch look great.

Beautiful day so we walked to the Abbey and sat outside in the shade. We had drinks and a baguette with chips each. Ordering is backed the bar but the food was brought to us in card trays and wooden forks- all disposable . The pub still has its perspex screen at the bar and the staff all wore masks so we felt very safe. Hand sanitiser was freely available. The drinks were lovely and the cold and the food very tasty, hot and lots of it! Well done Abbey, we shall be back
