Last minute Sunday lunch stop and what a gem! The team kindly squeezed us in on a busy Mothers Day lunch service. The food was one of the best pub roasts I’ve had in a long time and yummy fresh desserts, all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our dog was made very welcome too.Would highly recommend and revisit when we’re back in the area!

what a great place for our lunch. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The food was fabulous most of us had the soup of the day, chicken and vegetable with homemade chips on the side. The best soup I have had in years very tasty and homemade. We all enjoyed our lunch and would definitely go there next time we visit Wetherby.

Popped in for a quick drink on Sunday- was very busy serving Sunday lunches - which looked lovely I have to say. Staff very friendly and helpful in finding us a seat - we where soaked and cold after being out In the awful wind and rain but we soon had a hot coffee/hot chocs to warm us all up. Thanks 😊

The food is good, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. If I'm eating alone The Black Bull is a place I feel comfortable and my dog is welcome too.

I've had a few meals there, the lamb shank was my favorite so far!

Fantastic fish and chips and fish finger sandwich, batter was absolutely gorgeous. Be warned the fish finger sandwich is made with proper fish pieces in batter almost a full fillet of fish I should say, served with salad and homemade chips, its very filling. Highly recommended

A charming traditional pub/restaurant with a good menu of tasty well cooked food in substantial portions at a competitive price.A warm welcome and friendly efficient service from the staff made our visit a real pleasure. This would be our regular choice if we lived closer but will be a chosen eatery next time we are passing through the area.

Took my Dad there today for his 80th birthday lunch with some of our family and his friends. Dinner was lovely everybody really enjoyed it and the bar staff, kitchen staff and owner are just all fabulous! They went out of their way to make it lovely for my dad and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you soooo much and we will be seeing you again ❤

We were there about a fortnight ago when things were beginning to relax a wee bit in the hospitality trade.  Those who have made the effort to comply as best they can deserve one's custom and respect ... The Black Bull in Wetherby can count itself well in the ring of those who are making a difference. No need to drag it out, they just had their finger on every button ... and I would recommend them all day long.  The Best Gammon Steak Platter I have ever eaten and a bargain in anyone's book.  My good lady had what looked to be a first class omelette too.  We were very satisfied with the staff, cleanliness, and value for one's buck ... Try it for yourself if you happen to be in town.Update Summer Solstice 2021.When you're in the absolute centre of one of Northern England's busiest wee horse-racing🐎 towns, and you're hungry for lunch but care not to be ripped-off, fobbed-off or just disappointed ... and the town you're in is always-busy-but -very-nice Wetherby, then I recommend you dine at the famous Black Bull pub where you'll find exactly what you're looking for.  The right food in a right Yorkshire venue and staff at their most wonderful and cheerful disposition.  The Steak & Ale Pie I had was the best I have tasted outside Scotland; my wife had Haddock & Chips with Real Mushy Peas; and yet another unsought dish containing Broccoli, Carrots and Caullie were gleefully demolished and washed down with two halves of lager.  We went on to share an absurdly fine Tiramisu Dish with Fresh Berries and Ice Ceeam. This tidy, clean and well-managed pub provides service with a smile, a menu more than adequate, and a bill of some  twenty-four quid. Hurry there, find your chair and taste the fare at this great place.
