Nice place to relax, chill, after a long walk. Especially on sunny days.

I love this vibrant city and where better to start than city Square . With its amazing statue of Edward the Black Prince it is a real hub of activity . You will notice me I'm the soft southerner with thermals three jumpers and wooly hat , these people from Yorkshire don't feel the cold . Edward himself looks magnificent what a King he would have made . For those interested you will find him in his final resting place Canterbury Cathedral . This is the perfect place to start from the Leeds Museum, Art Gallery and Cathedral close by . Everyone should visit at least once this City is great .

The continual changes to this square are becoming quite tiresome, Leeds city council are forever chopping and changing the road layout, anti car, pro bus, and cyclists (Never see them), but hey so long as our woke green climate change policies and other minority right-on PC causes tick the right boxes, we'll carry on making life hell for drivers. However as to the square itself it is still a nice place to stroll around, the old GPO building, revamped Majestic cinema (C4s new H.Q.)and the beautiful Queens hotel are all perfect.

As a possible focal point just outside of our train station this area could be made much more attractive, inviting and welcoming. Somehow it doesn't reflect the vibrancy and attractiveness of the surrounding area and seems more like a forgotten area in the heart of downtown Leeds. It could too easily be missed and bypassed unless a weary traveller was looking for somewhere to have a seat. At least there are benches there to rest a while. It needs to be less of a hidden gem and more of a striking part of the beautiful area around the magnificant "Old post office building".

Great Italian piazza inspired City Square with lots of beautiful statues , plenty of free benches to sit and have your lunch or read a book , if you're not scared of huge bands of pigeons that's is. Restaurant bar and grill is a lovely place to sit in summer, pricey but that's what you get for the city centre. Perfect place to wait for your next train or to meet up with friend's.

I know this lovely spot within the heart of Leeds. Clean and attractive environment with ample space for relaxation while experiencing the bubbling of the city.
