Awful service. After an hour and a half of asking for an update on food and watching tables having one dish brought out whilst others sat and waited. We complained and said we were leaving..only then was our food ready. Had our food in bags to take away, which was burnt and cold.Poor service, staff looked disinterested and not sure of what they should be doing. The place has good reviews, but not from this experience. Won't bother again

Spent a nice two hours here on a busy Saturday lunchtime.Despite there being a large amount of people visiting at that time we still managed to find somewhere outside to sit in the sun.The queues for the bars (although quite long) went down pretty quickly. It's worth noting that there's also an outside bar as well as the main inside one. There was also a small tequila / cocktail bar outside as well.If you want a light lunch it's worth trying the taco street food trailer to the left of the boathouse main entrance, the chicken tacos (ÂŁ7 a portion for 3 taco's) were really good. We'll worth a visit here to the Boathouse Pub / Restaurant, especially if the weather is good.

Great food. Good atmosphere. Lovely beer garden. A little understaffed on my last visit. But won't put me off.

Relaxed, easy-going vibe with great outdoor area perfect for casual drinks. The wharf-side location is right at the heart of where the River Aire meets the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Leeds city centre. The food is really good, whether you're eating out casually or celebrating - this is what we had for a birthday party last week and also had a work Christmas do with quality catering two years ago.

Me and my wife arrived on a Saturday afternoon to find a crowd of people blocking the entrance and not one person there to greet us or seat us. After standing in a queue at the bar amongst others getting a drink we were pointed at where to sit despite a reservation. There was no actual service given and we weren’t even told how and where to order food and drinks. Looking around we had to assume you went up to the bar to order food. And that bring me onto my next problem. The bar area was incredibly tight and messy. There was no indication of who was ordering first or a separation of food and drink orders. I stood at the bar for 15 minutes whilst bar staff chatted and giggled. Not impressed. This would not have been a problem if the ordering app displayed actually worked. After ordering we sat down to blasting music in our ears barely able to hear myself think. Admittedly we didn’t know the atmosphere would be so loud but they could separate the people eating to the quieter upstairs area.We were left waiting for 50 minutes after ordering even thinking our food hadn’t gone through before it finally came. We were questioning leaving if we hadn’t already paid. When given the food we weren’t asked if we would like anything e.g condiments and the waiter didn’t even apologise for the huge wait.Anyway, the only reason we gave 3 stars was the food. For the price the burger and chips we ordered was top quality. Especially the skin on fries were very good I couldn’t get enough. The burger was well seasoned and different to what I’ve had before. I ordered the “spicy one”. It was very nice. We left promptly after finishing our meal to get some peace and quiet.

I've been here often enough now and have loved every experience. The staff are all friendly, great selection of drinks and the food is always fantastic - that includes great vegan options (the burger is unbelievable).I highly recommend the pub quiz too, every Monday; It's always a blast and I look forward to one day winning price is right!

Nice bar, called in early doors Sunday lunch time, chilling out by the Leeds & Liverpool canal. A bit disappointing as no cask ales on at the time, Guinness was nice. Didn't eat, but the pizza and burgers looked nice. Friendly Staff.

Victory Burger and Halloumi burger were fantastic. Although I was rather disappointed as I had seen on Google a lovely full menu with reasonable prices, only to turn up to pick up a short menu selection of pizzas or burgers at an increased cost?! No side options. Beers at ÂŁ4.5 - ÂŁ6 a pint and cocktails and ÂŁ9/10 a pop!!The food turned up in a fish and chip style flimsy cardboard holder which meant by the end of the meal, it was practically flat and the food was falling over the sides. I also cut a hole straight through the bottom where there was a gap on the bench due to the burger juices! Not practical? The staff were also blunt and a bit disinterested in helping. The saving grace was my company and sitting by the river.

Generously cheap beverages. Lovely staff. Great seating overlooking the river. Honestly a great place to take.some mates and have a few drinks or take the whole gang and have a meal. Each to their own. Enjoyed it here for my 25th birthday.Men's toilets could be on the ground floor. Only critism.

Great venue, particularly if good weather and dining outside. A slight problem with our meal order (10/08/21) but was professionally dealt with by the serving staff, excellent food and great selection of drinks. Definitely recommend Water Lane Boathouse.
