This pub offered us comfortable respite after being towed off the motorway. Food was lovely and service was friendly and attentive. Staff had no problems letting us stay whilst we waited for recovery, and were happy for us to charge our phones whilst we waited! Thank you all!

Visited today as a group of 5 (including a two year old) for lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful, both drinks and food order were taken fairly quickly once we were all settled at the table. We ordered 3x Sunday Dinners, a Chicken Burger and a Children's Chicken Nuggets and Chips. The food arrived hot and the Sunday roast portions were quite large even without the side orders of Cauliflower Cheese. Everything was to a fairly good standard and well cooked. Our only criticism is that the gravy was far too thick and poured only on the meat, it would have been better served in a jug on the side so you could decide how much you wanted. We had a side order missing, but this was later removed from the bill. The food was reasonably priced and good value for money.

Went with my husband on a lunchtime while visiting nearby. Both of us chose cod off the menu with chips/salad and garden peas. Meals served quickly, well cooked and piping hot. Will definitely be visiting when we are next in the area.

Brilliant, friendly and professional service from Charlotte and all the team on a busy Mother’s Day, and delicious fresh food with reasonably priced drinks. Thanks for a lovely time!

Not many options available on the menu for vegetarians. All steaks were well done even though some mediums were ordered. Very dog friendly. reasonably priced food however not the best quality, and very expensive wine. Good, friendly and attentive service.

Would definitely recommend this pub. I live in Guiseley and my friend lives in Malton so this pub is about half way. We meet here often for a catch up and something to eat. The food is amazing and always tasty. The service is quick even when they’re busy and the staff are really friendly. To top it off they’re super dog friendly xx

Don’t get me wrong the meal we had today was great value and of good quality, the new young staff member and bar man where very helpful, but the bar lady who was clearly not enjoying her day was not so affable. When I requested food from the bar man she interrupted saying if you have not booked you can’t order because we are busy. Bar man said your wait would be 1 hour which l said was not a problem.During our meal that was delivered after 40 minuets ! Some elderly people came in the pub she turned them away saying if you have not booked then you won’t get served….it was upsetting to see them walk out because the weather was very inclement.I understand about staff shortages, but it was not that busy that she should not have turned those people away a more accommodating approach should have been given very bad customers service….

Nice food, atmosphere, dogs allowed, went in for lunch as food served all day. Good size meal, would have liked vegetables instead of chips.

Poor food.Eat here a few years ago and the food was exceptional, however something's gone wrong, limited choice menu. However the staff were lovely even though there was only two doing all the front of house workWon't bother again.

This was my first ever visit to the Fox and Grapes and it will likely be my last. One of our party had been here before and said that the food was expensive, so I was imagining good food. However, any hopes of great home made pub food were dashed the moment the starters arrived. Calamari and Prawns conjured up images of fresh seafood, but instead it appears they just went to Iceland freezers and bought a box of beige seafood. We had two kids with us. One ordered Turkey and was served beef. The other ordered chicken and we got pork, well actually it was some unidentified meat as both my wife and I would swear it was pork, but the chef stated it was chicken. Either way it was chewy and very salty and inedible. My wife paid extra for cauliflower cheese which came in a tiny side pot, and was quite clearly not cooked for the first time today/this week. It was soggy and limp and there was no sign of any cheese sauce. The roast potatoes were almost certainly out of a prepack. My burger again seemed straight out of the freezer and couldn't have been more bland.
