Disgusting... Food appalling barely warm... Funny looking baguette sandwich... Raised concerns.. Staff not bothered.... This is the worst place I have Ever eaten

Friendly staff. Arrive in lunch time, the handcrafted meats are not bad with reasonable price.

The carvery is amazing. You can take as much sides as you want. The pub is decorated all around with beautiful pictures and paintings. The staff is great, smiles and polite. The tables are cleaned, the floor is clean and tidy. Children friendly place. Just can say keep it up. Will come back in the future.

It was OK. it was my first time in the UK and really wanted to try a Sunday roast and yorkshire pudding and this was restaurant was close and convenient. The carver was clearly not in a good mood. The serving line was a mess with food slopped all over. I don't expect gourmet food in a buffet line but it was disappointing.

Further to my previous review, I went again today and this place has gone from four stars to five in my opinion. I've noticed a recurring pattern that whenever I've mentioned something that could be improved to the staff, they always seem to act upon it, quietly and without fanfare. The staff are great, it seems like nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are still great, it's usually pretty quiet and there's plenty of reasonable-quality food, all you can eat for a good price. The drinks are still a bit pricey, but it's slap bang in the city centre, so I suppose that's fair enough. And if you buy a breakfast and a drink together, the two sort of balance out and you get an overall good deal.I can't comment on main meals later in the day as I've never been in then. I notice that it's always busy at mealtimes so I would anticipate there's a similar good standard of fare. I don't like crowds though, so I may have to try a late lunch at some point :)

I had the carvery for lunch today and have to say I was disappointed. The beef was cut so thin you could see through it, the cabbage wasn't cooked, distinct lack of gravy and onions in gravy. As for the toilets, don't even go there despite numerous complaints on here dating back months. Perhaps combining a drinkers' pub and a carvery isn't the best idea. There was a large table of rowdy ladies playing cards today in the middle of a carvery. I won't be returning.

This is a bit of a strange one for me, the pub is a nice pleasant place to sit and have a beer. When I was in it was really busy with people having the food it was a constant stream of people. Most of the chairs were comfy some a bit low for me. The staff were very good and the beers are very reasonably priced but the toilets let it down for me unfortunately. I have been in a couple of times and will go back in and hopefully the toilets will be better 🤞🤞🤞🤞 its a shame.

Nice and great portion of food!! But people came here mainly for drinking.

I have a very healthy appetite and never leave food but found the large carvery very disappointing. I am sure it had been out all day as you needed a chainsaw for the Yorkshire pudding and the stuffing was like concrete. I came in years ago and the food was good but after this visit I will never be returning.

Good atmosphere! Good for drinking and eating. Typical british pub style interior. We had the all you can eat breakfast which was delicious and only around 4 pounds! It's all self service, which i didn't find bothering at all.
