I’m visiting West Yorkshire from the United States. The Royalty has become a regular stop on my visit to the region. The food, the service (Sam & Emma) are exceptional and great value, add in the fantastic views from their beer garden then you have it all in this beautiful location…highly recommend a visit or two!!!

I never write reviews but I feel this needs writing. We stopped by for Sunday Roast here as other places were fully booked, so we were just glad they had availability… but then it quickly became clear why! Our food was served lukewarm, and we had to watch it go cold whilst we waited for our cutlery. I had a trio of pork, beef and chicken, and ALL 3 were tough and dry, the beef was burnt and so were the potatoes which tasted like cardboard. The veg was grey and no flavour, and there wasn’t enough gravy. My partner had Guinness with steak and ale pie and chips, which he said was average but not great. I had a shandy. The total cost was £35. Definitely won’t be going back here!2 stars for being dog friendly.

Absolutely shocked!!! Came in today as a family of four for a lunch. We we’re given a set of menus from which we had ordered food for the entire table. Everyone had the same menu including kids. The waitress even commented that she was not sure if some of the dishes were able to be made in kids size. We ordered few starters and a main each. When the food arrived starters were tiny, two kids portions were tiny just my and my wife’s portions were regular sizes. However once we got the bill we were shocked to see completely different prices to what we saw on the menus given to us by our waitress. It turned out we were all given kids menus not regular Menus hence why we were charged almost double. We called the manager over but he insisted that they have only two kids menus in the restaurant therefore we could not have been given four kids menus. We felt like we were taken advantage of, mislead and were forced to pay the bill regardless. The manager was really rude but I paid the bill anyway just to avoid further arguments. We knew 100% that we were scammed and we know that we will not come back there again.

Went to meet a friend who I haven’t seen in ages. I ordered and paid for the drinks before he arrived. It was very noisy in the pub so we chose to drink outside. Despite the clay pigeon shooting it was lovely. What wasn’t lovely was the price I paid for a small bottle of cider and a cappuccino. £11.00 seems a little expensive. Not impressed and the coffee despite the extra shot of espresso still tasted like hot milk.

Had a fantastic family meal in the Tap Room. We had to eat in there because we had our dog with us too. They were surprised by the increases in patrons the day we were there and as such changes had to be made in the type of meals on offer. This didn't spoil our experience though and I would recommend this place.

Nice atmosphere in the pub and the staff were friendly. Beer tasted nice, and our starters and desserts were really good. However, we had the Sunday roast, and it wasn't very good. The beef was chewy and the veg really hard. Don't bother with the cauliflower cheese either, it had hardly and cheese sauce. My friend had fish and chips which looked a lot better.

I can only comment on the beer & the views as we didn't sit inside . Popped across after a walk on the Chevin. It may have been late February but the sun was out so we sat outside . Had a pint & a rest with wonderful views . Beer was nice & chilled . Will be back soon , hope to try the food next time .

Great location. We parked up and took the dog for a walk in the Chevin then came back for dinner which was great. Then the pub overlooks the airport to the back so you have great views from there. The staff were really good and looked after us. The food was very nice, the fish and chips maybe lacked a little flavour but everything else was spot on.

Great views. Fantastic food, with an extensive menu, far more options than most. We went for Sunday lunch, and all four of us were very happy with both our main courses, and the desserts on offer. Highly recommend.
