Lovely clean and well organised bar for a get together. Some days are quieter than others. Gets especially busy when performances are on at The Grand Theatre or First Direct Arena. Offers craft beers and lagers and shows sports on tv. Management very friendly and sociable.

We stayed here for one night when we went to see Genisis play. Very friendly staff. Room was basic, functional, and clean. However, the beds and mattresses need replacing for sure if anyone is to sleep. This alone let the room down. The music went on until just after 1:30am which we felt could have been stopped sooner. The room was supplied with one pair of ear plugs that did help me but my wife was not so happy. Good thinking to supply them in the first place, please make sure two pairs are supplied. We had drinks at the bar and I will comment on the ales I tried. All I can think of is that as it was a Monday and I would presume after a busy weekend no one had time to clean the pipes. The first half was not good so I switched to another which was just as acidic as the first, both of which, in my view, and one other person I noticed was not drinkable. The third ale I tried was acceptable to drink. All in all get some decent beds and mattresses and look after the ale pipes and this could be a real great little inn. Price was acceptable. Location for the centre was great.

Friendly and welcoming bar. Yorkshire Pirlo on tap. Room was basic but comfortable and very handy for the Arena.

We met some friends who were staying here, very central and close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Enough space for 8, all amenities. Stairs only, built above a pub.
