Went to a tribute act. It was a set menu, which was sent to us weeks in advance. When the first course came out it was a different starter. Soup not pate, which was nice. The main was also different and horrible. No explanation as to the changes. The dj was really good, the tribute act was OK and quite entertaining. Luckily we were in good company, so had a good time.

Pros, brilliant pool. Helpful front desk staff.Cons, room looked tired, furniture seen better days. Not enough tea and coffee. Mirrors only cleaned up to eye level. Wire on the kettles are too short. Overpriced, for just a bed for the night. I can get a room in a village hotel for half the price, and have sky TV!

This would be 0 stars if possible. The only place to eat was In the bar and this was incredibly noisy, caused by people who weren't even staying at the hotel. Food was cold when it arrived and other than queuing for 20 minutes to tell someone there was nothing we could do. I paid extra for access to the pool , gym etc and for late checkout in order to use these facilities but they were closed all morning due to no hot water. This also meant we couldn't shower upon waking. Finally cleaner's were not informed of our late checkout and kept knocking on our door to clean the room, at 11am our keys stopped working. All in all the worst stay I have ever had at a village ( they are usually a pleasure to stay with). Complete waste of money and our only weekend without the kids in years. David's post below was not true at all, we went to use the facilities at 11:05 and were told they were closed. I have tried to raise a complaint with David from village hotels and he chooses to ignore my emails. Village do not seen to care about poor experiences !.

Visited with a friend for 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean, a good size and bed very comfy. The pool area was so nice and staff all very helpful. We went down to the restaurant to be greeted and seated by a lovely lady called Amy she and her team were very busy but always made sure all the customers were happy an even took our photo for us. Fabulous service and food lovely. Will be returning

Worst stay in a long time. To start with, the toilet still showed the remains of the previous guest under the rim. Secondly, I was seated in the bar area for dinner. My table was cleaned, got a menu and waited approx half an hour to get serviced. When nobody came I decided to just leave and have some crackers in my room. Next morning, my booking showed up as breakfast NOT included where my agent was assuring me it was. I now had to pay twice! Never ever again I will set foot in this hotel or its chain.

Just had a 2 night stay at village hotel leeds South with my 10 year old daughter. Apart from the terrible weather we had a fantastic weekend in Leeds. Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly and attentive, especially in the restaurant on the first night. My daughter loved the pool. One small gripe was we asked for a mocktail from the bar on our second night after a day shopping in Leeds, and the barman charged me the same price for a cocktail (£7 for a small glass of mixed fruit juice and soda!) Breakfast was delicious staff got me some vegetarian sausages when I asked. Will definitely be back again when we visit Leeds, it's a 15 minute drive to Leeds city centre.

came to a meeting here last week and everything was perfect. Niamh looked after us really well and made our trip to the hotel a welcoming experience . food could do with some improvement.

I would rate this a ZERO !!! I joined the gym here the staff are very pleasant and professional and the classes are great. However there are a few individuals and the old man at the poolside whom I found to be very racist. I don’t think this is a gym for people of colour as they think really low of you. I had comments made to me which made me feel uncomfortable and upset. Hence the reason I never returned. And when you speak up to these bullies u get a warning and the manager Phil doesn’t even bother to ring u back. Do not join here. Horrible feeling. 😡😡😡

When we first entered the room, it was tidy, but we noticed that the floor was not clean (carpet was not vacuumed) and there were dust particles on some surfaces as if it was cleaned in a rush. One of the lights in the room (above the bed) was not working. Hence, the room was not appropriately illuminated even with all lights on. The WiFi signal was very week and it was breaking up. We used our mobile data instead, which was better, even though the reception in the hotel was not that good.During the first night, there was this noise that woke us up. It seemed to come from a water pipe. Probably someone in the room next door was taking a shower, which is perfectly logical as we cannot prevent someone from taking a shower in the middle of the night. What is illogical is people in the neighbouring room waking up from this as the sound was too loud. Also, we noticed an unpleasant smell coming and going and we thought it was coming from the toilet. We couldn’t find the source of this smell during our stay there. Another issue we faced had to do with the heating regulation. At the initial setting, the room was relatively cold. We increased the thermostat by 1 degree (it had only 1°C increments) and it was quite hot. We reduced it again to the initial setting and it became cold again. That was happening during both nights and we had to wake up 3-4 times each night to change the setting. On the next day, the room was not cleaned at all and we returned at night to find it as we left it. We went to the reception and reported that. The receptionist apologised and said that she would speak to the cleaner next morning. We explained that this is unacceptable and, if it could not be cleaned, we should move to another room. She said that she wouldn't do that but offered to give us a black back to remove the trash from the bins ourselves. We explained to her again that this is unacceptable, as we paid for these services and she cannot ask us to clean the room ourselves. Long story short, she told us that there was nobody there to clean the room, but she would not change our room even though there were available rooms in the hotel because, after all, they would not thoroughly clean the room, just tidy up. We explained for one last time that what she was telling us was unacceptable, as cleanliness is the most important aspect of a hotel room, especially during this period with the pandemic and that we were very disappointed by the way we were treated. The best aspect was probably the breakfast, as we enjoyed everything. It has some variety and, while there were 1-2 things that could be improved, overall, we were very happy with it.Overall, our experience was quite unpleasant, and this was due to the way we were treated by the receptionist. Ignoring our complaint, then asking us to take the trash out ourselves and finally telling us that they would not really clean the room, just tidy up, is preposterous. You should value your customers, not treating them like garbage.

The bar/restaurant area was cold. We had to keep our coats on as did other patrons. The food was at best average. It was warm, but not hot.The menu says that the Mexican burger contains salsa. The one served to my daughter had tinned tomatoes in in - not salsa. A family at the next table ordered steak, ribs and a portion of fish and chips, none of which were available from what is not a large choice to begin with. Not acceptable. These items are pub menu staples. Overall very poor. Would not recommend or return.
