Couldn't complain, tasted lovely, an not greasy, had a sherry trifle aswell. Maybe a little pricey for fish N chips tbh but it is a restaurant after all.

Some of the best fish and chips that I've ever had. Definitely not your typical fish & chip restaurant. A lovely setting for a family meal or evening out with work colleagues. I particularly enjoyed the haddock, scampi and chips. Also loved that they had dandelion and burdock on the drinks menu, really took me back to when I was a child.Apparently this was the original Harry Ramsden restaurant and the current owners are keeping the spirit alive and serving food that I'm sure Harry would have approved of. Far better than anything I've ever eaten in a modern Harry Ramsden restaurant.

Lovely meal, and what a joy to be entertained with a live pianist whilst eating. Nice atmosphere, large restaurant space. Plenty of parking. Very enjoyable. Thank you. Staff all pleasant and friendly. šŸ˜

Very nice fish n chips from the takeaway. Cooked to order and served with a smile. Only wish I was able to out my own salt n vinegar on like other fish n chip shops do.

Very nice place and beautiful Christmas decorations when we were there near Christmas. The live pianist added to the ambience. Great fish and chips too

Absolutely lovely here. Lovely food, good portions and lovely staff. Would go again if I was in the area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The tables are well spaced apart, with a piano man it was very relaxing. We had drinks, fish and chips which were cooked perfectly followed by some delicious desserts. I can recommend the large trifle!(I think there was an extra layer of glazing on the windows and so when we were sat next to one it wasn't at all draughty like a previous visit).

1st time visiting here and loved it. The decor was traditional with a cosy vibe and toilets were clean. All main meals come with complimentary tea/coffee. The fish was crispy and light (not too greasy), chips were perfect chip shop style. The curry sauce was one of the best I've ever tried. Pianist playing live creating a beautiful atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and our waiter was a nice bloke. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you're passing by.

No plaice like the Wetherby Whaler, excellent customer service also extremely courteous and helpful. Service was very swift and when the food arrived it was a taste extravaganza, never had plaice before and wow the fish was pure white with no yellow, the batter was light/ thin and consistently crispy. Pure perfection on a plate, the chips are crispy but fluffy and exceptional moorish - no complaint with anything except I'm too young for the senior discount.

ā€œLazy Sundayā€It didnā€™t get of to a good start when I phoned about placing an order, the bloke on the phone said order online and hung up! So Iā€™ll do my review online.Plenty of lightly cooked chips.Three fish, I would say they were all pre cooked to get them so dark and hard on the outside. ā€œCase hardenedā€The Yorkshire Fishcake was fresher, big slices of potato with small pieces of fresh fish inside. Unfortunately it was sat in a puddle of grease in the box.Donā€™t think Iā€™ll bother again. Itā€™s like a McChippie.
