A cute traditional pub in the alley. The oldest pub in Leeds and with great atmosphere and food. Will definitely go back on a Sunday to try the Sunday specialty roasts !

Great Ale selection, nice food, nice people, good crowd always, quietly tucked away. Proper pub, oldest and best in Leeds!

This is a fake recession. I have never been to this place. But I'm not an avid beer drinker, nor do I love fish and chips. However, this recession helps me to get 11 points, so there are 5 stars 🌟 from me. No offense, it's even 21 points. But I promise when you're back in the EU I'm sure I'll be there to cheer you on for a Leeds vs Arsenal game.

Lovely traditional pub in the centre of Leeds. Very good beers and proper pub food. Manages the tricky pub / food balance well. Friendly efficient staff.

Sometimes you go to the oldest pub in towns and cities and they are living on history. Tried a couple of different cask ales here and they were both lovely and clear, well kept and tasted lovely. Best of all was that in these days of pale hoppy beers being in fashion they still had a real good variety to suit all tastes.

Great old fashioned pub, unfortunately only seats about 25 people including dining guests.Very crowded, plenty of spilled pints and apologetic patrons.Get in on a quiet day and appreciate the old style bar, which is almost as big as the entire pub.Would visit again, but only on a quiet day.

Amazing old pub. Great selection of well kept beer (keg and cask). Lovely atmosphere and decor. I always call in when I'm in Leeds. It's a must visit for anyone passing through Leeds.

Cute little pub. The food was good. Got a fish finger sandwich, it was really big portion sized. Great little historic hidden gem in the centre of Leeds.

Drank here many times before, had food for the first time tonight and wasn't disappointed. I had the Steak and Ale pie, and my friend had fish and chips, both were large portions and delicious. Veltins on tap to wash it down was a definite plus. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only very minor moan would be that the pie could come with more veg, but a lot of people probably leave it. Overall a reasonably priced very enjoyable meal.

Lovely Sunday dinner, I wish they would make the roast potatoes crispy or cooked longer they always seem very Bland and soft but everything is wonderful. Lovely homemade Yorkshire puddings. outdoor seating and plenty of space. Book in advance online.
