Went in for a sit down meal, this was a set meal fish, chips mushy peas bread and butter tea or coffee.Firstly wife asked for a cold drink instead of a tea (menus price £1.30) coke £1.20 but this was not an option so had to pay a further £1.20 but had no tea. Not liking mushy peas also no alternative.Bread and butter was 1 slice of very cheep quality bread and some sort of spread that was stale so never ate it. When we mentioned this to the young waitress we got a really strange response, she laughted and said it had just come out the freezer never ate. The cod and chips were lovely just a shame about these small issues. Sadly as we are locals would not use again.

I was short changed by £10 when asked if the boss could check cctv he point blank refused and told me he wasn't the boss, a lady in the restaurant told me that Alex was the boss. he was obviously lying to not want to take any responsibility at all!lady who served me claims I ordered 2 drinks with my meals when I absolutely did not order any drinks again asked them to check cctv and he refused!! the man was rude and obnoxious and offered me some chips next time I am in cleethorpes as a gesture of goodwill? what an insult! the food was awful too, skin on the fish and batter was under cooked and greasy! would not eat here again ever!! rude man and terrible business man!

Manager was rude, asked if we could sit in staff said yes and he comes out and told us to leave, they also charge for pots for the sauce at 30p and 10% to sit in, which we didn't know until the Manager shouted at us to leave. We had sausage and chips, sausage was burnt and chips were under cooked, also had curry sauce on top and it was ok. Manager should be less aggressive and explained before kicking off.

There are not too many places to have a nice sit down fish and chips in Cleethorpe so we thought we would give it a try.To be fair the restaurant is clean and tidy and the staff were polite. However thats as good as it goes.I ordered a large lightly battered cod fish supper for myself and a mini fish supper for my wife the cost if which was not excessive however what appeared I can only say was shocking the fish was a bit bland and tasteless but the amount of batter that was on it would have covered everyone eating in the restaurant at the samd time as us.Also as Ilifed the fish the whole of my portion of chips was covered in scraps. But to top it all after making my small complaint at tge end and offered to pay by card was told there is a 10% surchage for paying with a card obviusly some form of tax dodging as wanting people to pay cash and not getting a receipt from a till.

It's located just a few shops Way from the main street but it's worth walking there for a quick lunch. Good value and freshly prepared light battered fish! The chips are nice with curry sauce / peas.. The fish & chips are way better than a lot of the branded shop around 5b4 area. The owner is very nice and friendly during our visit! Would recommend and eat here again

Thank you again Meggies. Our first time was because you were almost the only dog friendly place but served great fish haddock suppers at a fair price. We returned today loaded with 4 young grandchildren plus dog hoping for the same and we were not disappointed, in fact, more impressed as the perfectly cooked chips and crisp battered haddock plus super mushy peas were just as good but you went the extra mile for our daughter whose 7 week old with bad timing needed feeding as her plate arrived and you kept it warm on request. Thank you so much. Best wishes for the future and look forward to coming again. Highly recommended..

Visited Cleethorpes for the first time today and had no idea where to go for fish and chips. Carefully avoiding Papa's we went up onto what looked like the main street and stumbled upon this wee gem. Cracking value for money, the fish was huge and really well cooked and the chips were excellent too. We were stuffed and the gf couldn't finish hers. If I ever find myself in Cleethorpes again this is where I'll eat.

i have been here a few times. when we have asked for separate receipts/separate meals back in 2020, the owners had an argument with my carers.the chips seem slightly undercooked but the portion size is not too big and just right.there are tables to sit and eat onyou can pay by cash or card here compared to some competitorsthey now do cheese bites here

The first time we went here yesterday. To say its only a small place, the food was great. You get a lot for your money and they even serve scraps! They give you a large pot if you ask for gravy or another sauce and you get free bread and tea or coffee with your meal. Very generous proportions, great tasting meal, friendly staff, and a nice homely feeling. Definitely recommend!

The food was good. Standard English Fish and Chips with Curry Sauce and Tea along with Butter and bread.Only issue was they only accept Cash. The second issue we faced on the day was the Rubicon Can Soft drink was Expired in Nov 2020 and they were still serving in July 2021. ( Just check the date - probably still using pre-COVID-19 stock)
