Food is good Ordered small plates hot big plates Wait time is very very long but good quality Pleasant staff

Steak on mixed grill was meant to be rare but cooked a bit like Gandhi's flip flop. One of the waiters knocked a bottle of Pepsi out of my hand didn't apologise or offer to replace it, went to bar to explain and was basically told not their fault.

Lovely food. All freshly cooked, hot and tasty.

A gem of pub conveniently located on the promenade near parking and the train station with friendly and welcoming staff. A fairly standard northern drinks so selection. A good standard of ingredients could do with more local drinks and meat suppliers. But, that's me knit picking.A safe pub; candidate for one most underrated in town. Good home cooked foods that are value for money. Fresh mash and potatoes, which is hard to find nowadays! The gravy and the onions could delight any palette. 4 out of 5. A great pub but with archievable room for improvement.

It was our first time here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our food was cooked fresh to order, huge portions and tasted great. A very pleasant visit and we will definitely be returning.

The staff are really friendly and the location of the pub is really good only thing I can mark it down on is the food quality the steaks are not fresh they are definitely frozen would not order that again , everything else seems okay

2nd time visiting.1st time waited 5 minutes to be seated, collected own drinks from bar and then waited over 40 minutes for someone to take our food order but no-one came so we left.2nd time, again waited 5 minutes to be seated. We told the staff we were only wanting drinks and we were informed someone will come and take our drinks order. In the following 20 minutes the staff looked at us a few times but left us sitting there like ornaments. Got tired of waiting so walked out. I could understand a small wait if they were busy but it was quiet. How the hell they stay open god only knows. We will NOT be returning.

Decent fish and chips. We were able to use the eat out to help out so half price.Friendly staff and quick service.The coffee was very nice
