I'm sorry but 1 sausage.,1 piece of bacon 1,egg 1 hash brown, 1 piece of toast, small beans and tomatoes is not a fried breakfast especially for just under a fiver isn't good value. Could have been warmer too! The place is clean though on the plus side!

The Sidewalk restaurant and bar in Grimsby, this place opened in 1984 and still going strong.I must admit it's been awhile since I've eaten here, and it's actually got better. It's certainly had a makeover in terms of it's style and menu.Nowadays it's a nicely appointed place with a clean modern look and cosy feel. The menu has improved as has the quality of the food it serves. Open six days a week and serving a decent selection of dishes from breakfast through to teatime meals, with a range of breakfasts, main meals,a reasonable selection of salads and children's meals on offer, they also have a daily specials menu. It has good friendly staff, service is a mixture of cafeteria style and table service depending on what type of meal you order. The layout consists of a standard table and chairs of varying sizes and it has it's own restrooms. It serves alcohol and has its own bar, being situated on the first floor it's unfortunately unable to accommodate wheelchair users as its only accessible via a staircase. The nearest parking is restricted to a pay and display car park on Cartergate and there's more in the multi storey car parks in the area. This place can still be hired for special events and parties. Payment by credit cards are acceptable here.It has a 5***** food hygiene rating.Food review Jan 2019.I opted for the Haddock chips and garden peas and a pot of tea. I had a short wait before my meal arrived (freshly cooked to order). It was a good sized plate of food and nicely presented ,the quality of the fish was pretty good with a good thin crispy batter white flesh and a fair amount of flavour. A decent meal overall and not overly expensive at £10.90 taking everything into consideration.Food review July 2019.I've eaten here a couple of times recently and the food has been good on both occasions.First visit I had a roast Beef lunch,a good plate of fresh vegetables an a generous portion of roast Beef that had been perfectly cooked, good quality meat, very tender and delicious👌, the only thing that spoilt the meal a little was the Yorkshire pud which was of the frozen variety, apart from that everything was very good.I paid £7.95 for my meal.Second visit, I opted for a sirloin steak, again good quality beef cooked as I requested medium rare and accompanied by items of my own choice, chips, mushrooms and garden peas. 👌I paid £10.95 for my steak meal.If you're looking for a traditional food menu with reasonable prices, good friendly service in a warm pleasant environment, then this place will fit your requirements perfectly.Food review January 2020.Had lunch here today, I opted for the steak and ale pie, my pie arrived after a short while, comprising of a flaky pastry lid, this was a little soft but still tasty, the filling was a different matter a generous amount of large pieces of beautifully braised beef in a good rich sauce, very delicious it came accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables and a gravy boat.I paid £8.95 for my meal and a further £1.99 for a pot of tea.

Always enjoyed my meals from here. Have been coming here on and off for over 15 years. Quality home cooked food and lively staff with a great environment. Highly recommend

Disappointed with the tiny jacket potato. Even the salad portion was tiny.. I realise potatoes vary, but it could easily be rectified by bulking up the few Lettuce leaves or adding another half of potato. Wasn't cheap either and I only had one topping

Excellent food and service. I always come here with my children for lunch if I am in town. Very child friendly and my children love coming here.
