Fish over hanging the plate, chips mussy peas and tea what more could you want? Very friendly staff I sat on the first floor its was busy and I beleive its because its the best Fish and Chip shop in Cleethorpes or Grimsby and I've got to agree a very reasonable price as well.Will be back again soon.

Following a short wait to be seated we were escorted to a first floor window seat.The staff were very busy, maybe short staffed and again we had a wait for the order to be taken and our drinks order to be served.When the food finally came it was a large portion of Haddock and chips which was worth the wait.

This was our first visit to Steels restaurant in Cleethorpes and we would definitely recommend it! Its an old fashioned (in the nice sense if the word), traditional fish and chip restaurant serving dishes such as fish and chips, steak pie and chips, traditional puddings (if you have room for one!). Both my husband and I had the haddock and chips and it was delicious! Very fresh, nice tasty batter and very good mushy peas. Served with bread and butter and a pot of tea. What's not to like! The staff were very friendly and menu was reasonably priced.

Amazing home cooked food and friendly efficient service. Had a brilliant evening. Traditional, generous, delicious desserts to die for. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Enjoyed lunchtime meal with friends whilst visiting the area. Have previously had takeaway during Covid but wanted to experience dining in. Varied menu with large & small portions available. Chose fish & chips served with mushy peas. Pot of tea + bread & butter included in meal price. Large fish was big (front) Jumbo one (back) was huge but still devoured. All freshly cooked to order, nice crisp batter & loads of chips. Fish can be skinned if required. Service was warm & friendly, would recommend to anyone.

Excellent fish and chips, as expected, friendly service, proper old school jam sponge pudding was amazing.

What a lovely place to eat, as you can see the portions are a good size and value for money. We well be going again.

We were in nearby Tetney on holiday and Steels was highly recommended to us by the locals, so after a day at Cleethorpes beach we decided to pop in and sample the food ourselves...Firstly, any restuarant you go that has a steady stream of people choosing to wait & queue for empty seats is a great sign - we wanted to have our fish & chips to go but the amount of people that were coming through the door to eat inside during the 15 minutes we waited was amazing, so we knew the food was going to be good!I've grown up on fish and chips and like to think I've sampled enough in my time to spot a 'good un' - and Steels is most definitely one of those! The fish was beautifully fresh & not greasy - and the mountain of chips were delicious.I felt the portion size of the tub of peas was perhaps a little on the small side (I would have ordered 2 if I'd known), but that again was only because they were so yummy and I could have eaten more.Best fish & chips you've ever had? Quite possibly... highly recommended? Most definitely...

Delicious fish, highly recommend the halibut, generous portions at a reasonable price. Friendly and helpful staff will definitely return next time we are in Cleethorpes.
