The Fryer in North East Lincolnshire

Cooked fresh, good product, reasonable price. Well packed for the ride home. That's all you need. (I like skin on my fish)

Two of us had fish, chips, peas and a can of coke each here on Friday (24/06/22) - It cost well over £17 which I queried as it seemed a lot for takeout chippy. It was nice but not amazing but we thought it was a bit much to be charged another 10p for 2 plastic forks after we'd paid almost £18

Best chips I've had in a long time. Crispy and golden. Definitely be going again.

Been before and very nice. Please don't go at 1.50pm as they turn the fryers off and the fish comes out anaemic with luke warm chips. Same price but poor.

Superb as always! Fish is light and flaky, the batter light and crispy. I have had a lot of fish and chips in my life, this place ranks in the top 5 in the country imo. Consistently good food!

i liked walking here to get chips but sometimes i would get mushy stools. i liked being able to help myself to drinks. it's nice to listen to Capital FM in the background whilst waiting

Decided to drive out and test a different chippy. How disappointing... tasteless, anaemic chips... a little on the soggy side. The fish was crammed into the cheap polystyrene box , and was swimming in grease. The fish was very thin at each end , and the batter was simply awful. I'm not considering going back...there's much better on offer elsewhere...

Poor quality food, is unacceptable!Web-pages show this business being open Fridays, the day of my wife's visit, for business at 11:30 AM to 8 PM.Entering the premises at 2:35 PM, she was informed that they were closing and would not be serving any more fish and chips.However, they did offer a sausage and chips, which to my wife's regret, were paid for, as she was hungry and did not feel like travelling further, to find something more suitable.On reaching home the chips were found to be adequate and of a reasonable portion. However, the 'sausage' was eaten and digested with much effort, to sate her hunger-pains and not waste the cost of £2.75 p.The 'sausage' was pale white in colour and lacked both taste and texture. How anyone has the gall to sell such poor quality products, just beggars belief. It's embarrassing to find such imitations, of what Lincolnshire can produce well, being sold locally as food.UPDATE:Being hungry, and willing to give this outlet another try, my wife purchased two medium fried haddock fillets with one portion of medium-sized chips for us both today, 13th of August 2019.This establishment may be under new management, but new does not always mean better. The fish must have died of starvation, it was that thin. The batter was not to our liking, unless we preferred ours more suitable for a bullet-proof vest! There are many similar outlets in the local area which are demonstrably better able to provide decent fare of this type.Our main complaint now, is that none of them are nearer than this pathetic excuse for a chippy. I feel sorry for the owners of The Fryer, whohave yet to find their true vocation, which certainly isn't providing good quality fish and chips. In a word, dire!
