Black Swan Hotel in Richmondshire

Beautiful food, very generous / proportioned dishes. The quality / flavour of the meat was wonderful, obviously sourced directly from local suppliers as the taste was so fresh and hadn't gone through the usual supermarket processing. Staff were both friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit, but booking is recommended.

This is a very popular pub in Leyburn. We had booked to eat here on the Friday night before trsvelling and in asking to book another meal we were informed Sunday bookings had been filled already.Friday evening we each had a steak and both were cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly, very helpful and one lovely waitress gave us some brilliant information of the area. Look forward to revisiting.

Just had lunch here today shared the camembert which was amazing, then I had the muscles dish, which was outstanding in quality, flavour and quantity of muscles received along with chips and bread, would definitely recommend the pub and food, Dave was our server who was a lovely and professional man thank you

Lovely trip out to Malham Tarn decided to call in the Black Swan on the way back. It was very busy but the lovely welcoming staff accommodated us just turning up. It is the first time we have been and we most definitely will be back. It was the best Sunday dinner we have had in a very long time. The sirloin beef was cooked to perfection. The mash and roast potatoes also perfect. A wooden board with separate broccoli, carrot and swede, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese arrived so that we could choose our own veg and how much. All cooked to perfection again. The team of staff were also very kind, attentive, welcoming and friendly. See you all again soon!

Had an evening meal here. It was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fish pie was one of the best I'd ever eaten and was huge. The food is more restaurant style than pub food and is well presented and delicious. Highly recommend.

Popped in for a lunchtime drink and ended up staying for Sunday lunch. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. We live a couple of hours drive from the pub, but will definitely go back, worth every penny, thank you and thankyou to the staff very friendly

Really disappointed with the evening meal we were so looking forward to after reading the reviews. Husband had steak pie with suet crust which he found too salty and unable to finish. I had stuffed chicken with goats cheese and pesto wrapped in fatty bacon. I like pesto and goats cheese but was overpowering for my taste so left half. Change of chef perhaps or chosen the wrong dishes for our taste. On a positive note the staff were very pleasant.

One of the best pubs we have ever visited . The Black Swan has it all. From the very warm welcome as we entered ,to the excellent service we received throughout our visit. The decor has also been well thought out . We visited on the 29th of September around 12.30. We sat in one of the window seats which over looked the centre of Leyburn. We all had different meals which we all enjoyed. The waiter that looked after us was brilliant, he had not worked there long but you could not tell .His attitude was spot on and friendly. The only down side was the location of the gents toilets which were up a flight of stairs .

Great food , nice rooms ,cracking location. The staff were warm & friendly, easy parking with loads to do locally. The food in the Black Swan is stunning & worth the trip alone.The Manager John was really professional👌

We stopped in here for a bit b to eat after a long day of exploring the area. I was very surprised, this is not just a typical hotel pub. The staff were so friendly an helpful from the time we entered. I ordered the beef and ale pie which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place if you're in town. Just now the kitchen closed at 8.30, so make sure you get on before then to avoid disappointment!
