I have just been to this wonderful, unique little restaurant for my cousin’s 80th birthday treat. Four of us went for afternoon tea on Saturday and,yet again, it was AMAZING! (I have been quite a few times before both for lunches and afternoon teas). As always the food was superb and the service top class! I have recommended this to many friends over the past few years and they too have always loved their experiences. I love visiting places for afternoon teas and can honestly say that Coghlans is by far the most beautiful, and consistently the best for quality food and service in the North East!Thank you Coghlans!

This was a groupon offer so really good price. However could have been more savoury. Shop had wonderful selection of quiches and cheese scones but non were on the afternoon tea. My only other complaint was the room was very cold

Excellent freindly staff. When we arrived after our walk they provided storage of our rucksacks while we ate.

Bit cold in there. Be better if had an open fire etc to make it cozy. Afternoon tea was OK but I wasn't blown away

Amazing lunch, asparagus and tomato quiche...pastry so thin and crispy, fantastic. Chicken terrine, gloriously unctuous. Superb homemade food...top quality. Their shop is brilliant also, homemade breads, pork pies, Cornish pasties and locally sourced honey.

Lovely presentation of afternoon tea. Very tasty and filling. Had to put some in a box to take home. Scoffed the lot later!!

What a lovely place. Took dad for his birthday it was a great hit. Will definately go back. The staff were very friendly and good service.

Fantastic food and pleasant surroundings makes this an unforgettable dining experience. Offering up to five courses, it is definately worth bringing your appetite! The dining room is small which means that the service always is on point and the food is presented well making each plate a delight to receive. Give this place a try.

Outstanding afternoon tea in the picturesque village of Barningham at Coghlans. In the converted stables the staff were very friendly and professional. Will be going back again shortly for a meal.
