Green Dragon Inn in Richmondshire

A very nice spot. Chris- the landlord - very friendly and so is the whole staff. Spacious rooms, nicely equipped with elegant furniture. Reasonable prices for overnight stay. Good food, good beer. A visit which you will not regret.

I am from USA and I was traveling through England finding all the Robin Hood stuff when I finished at the Sycamore gap, I realized it was too late to drive back to where I came from. I called the Green Dragon Inn and was informed that they had a room for me. Once I arrived I was greeted by the owner Chris, he not only greeted me with a smile, but he fixed my key to the car I rented which broke. He also made me a sandwich. Though not just any sandwich it was made with Yorkshire ham, and Wensleydale cheese! This was hands down the best sandwich I have ever had. He took the time to get to know me, show me around, and teach me the history of the Inn and pub. It was amazing, I would definitely recommend this page to anyone. It is a must see. They have more to offer than just a place to sleep or drink, they have a love of music and a wonderful dance floor. This place will not disappoint.

Superb pub. One of the best I have ever visited. Historic, welcoming and rambling. Welcomes families and dogs. We didn't eat, but the range of local ales on the hand pumps was excellent and the Old Peculier strong ale was a treat.Just behind the pub is a short stroll to the highest single drop waterfall in England.

Me and my family visited for tea over the Easter 2022 weekend and it was perfect. We all enjoyed home made meals with drinks and the service was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Would highly recommend, I will certainly be visiting again when going to the Dales.

Overall great pub - we booked ahead but wasn’t too busy that we wouldn’t have gotten a table. Dog friendly (also had a dog free area) good food, very cosy with a fireplace and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Also great location - can’t go wrong. Would return!

Visited after walking over the fields from Hawes.Lovely pub for a drink or two. Location hard to better. Food looked really good - we will definitely return to try lunch. Hardraw falls at the rear of the pub well worth a visit too

Had the best long weekend for my birthday. Last visited 20 years ago and the atmosphere was as wonderful as ever. Wonderful staff, great home cooked food.. portions plenty big enough and very welcome after a day walking the dales. Huge roaring fires and dogs truly welcome not just tolerated. If you like to feel relaxed,warm and welcomed whateverthe weather then you will love it here. Absolutely Fabulouswhatever

Very nice pub, old and well decorated, great place to visit after the waterfall trip OR for a Sunday lunch !The food, its absolutely amazing, I've been to a lot of places BUT none have done a Sunday lunch like here !The roast beef is ........... well you have to taste it to believe it, the gravy is awesome!Veg cooked to perfection.Very nice and friendly staff, service with a smile, fantastic.If you haven't been you're missing out.

Went in for a pint after viewing the the falls.Stayed for a few?Returned the hours later for even meal food absolutely amazing.Service and staff lovely.I can't wait to go againKeep up the good work xx

Amazing pub with fantastic staff. 1st and 2nd best pub fire I've ever seen. Great beer and a great Sunday lunch (not usually a roast fan). Room was spacious warm and well equipped (no electric shower thankfully!). Stunning location. Would highly recommend
