What a farm shop. Indeed, Mainsgill is more a pleasure than a farm shop. Great food with excellent cakes at great prices, always look out for the specials. The range of farm produce is outstanding with their range of meats being the star. You can pick up your favourites and find new ones. They carry sweets, some toys and a great array of gins. Upstairs you’ll find lots of home and clothes on offer. Be careful you will find something you didn’t think you needed. There is a lift to get upstairs so great access but some soles upstairs can be rammed full of products so not always accessible. Toilets are excellent and they have good facilities for covid. If the shop doesn’t appeal then the kids can play out on the swings and zip line or wonder around the animals, which include camels. Be prepared to be patient if turning right when getting out as some traffic passes quickly on the A66. £14 for afternoon tea for one…fab.

Cute little find with camels, cows, ostrich’s and emus. Farm shop is nice, though the cafe is pricey. Will return!

Absolutely awesome farm store. The produce is next level. My favourite are the Pork and Stilton pies. Best I've had. Love visiting here on my way to The Lakes, great parking, great views and nice to see the farm animals.

This has been improved since our last visit. Went to the cafe first and the system moved the queue quickly and despite it being busy the food came quickly. It was superb. Cake range is the place diabetics go to die. So much sweetly goodness on offer. The shop had so much available, we had to rein ourselves in. Home furnishings, foods, fancy goods, great quality. Prices reflect this. You want a treat? Visit here.

As farm shops go this must be one of the biggest. Certainly one of the biggest that I've been to. It seems very popular as it's always been busy on the occasions we've visit. The shop sells a wide range of meats, cheese, fruit and veg plus the more unusual farm shop items. A range of balsamic vinegars, olive oils and coffee's, there are breads, pies, cakes, sweets and toys. The mezzanine level hosts top range clothing, gifts and cards plus home decor and expensive chocolates. There is also a lovely cafe selling meals, snacks, hot and cold drinks and cakes. Portions are generous and tasty. My image of staff is attentive, polite, cheerful and happy to help. Because it's such a busy place be prepared to queue for a table. The ground floor shop, cafe and toilets are accessible to wheelchair users but I'm not sure if there's a lift to upstairs.Outside are a couple of large barns that can be visited. One housing beautiful cows and the other has adorable donkeys and ostriches. All in all well worth a visit.

Love this place. Great rest stop on a long journey. Can imagine it is very popular all year round. Food on the pricier side but worth it for the quality.

Outstanding place to stop on the A66 just a few miles west of Scotch Corner, with access from the road in both directions. Well organised cafe serving a range of foods, including very attractive cakes and pastries. It is really good value, too. The shop sells highest quality meats from the farm, as well as a range of fresh vegetables, cheeses and imported specialist foodstuffs.Oh, and to see there are sheep and donkeys … as well as a llama, camels (really!), an ostrich and a rhea!

What an absolutely lovely place to visit. See some interesting animals like camels and lamas. Beautifully presented shop with a wide choice of gifts and local produce. Nice restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There is a lift to the top floor gift shop for disabled customers or push chairs. Definitely recommend visiting or using as an alternative to Scotch Corner services if you need a comfort break.

Great place to stop at.Plenty of things to see for kids and adults.Lovely food and the ice cream was "awesome" according to the kids.Having tried a spoon, I have to agree.Emu and Camels to see as well, why wouldn't you....
