First visit for over 2 yrs. Not the same as last visit. Before it was busy friendly and well run. This time there was only a handful of people. We were told to find a table and order at the bar. The food and service was average.what stood out was the manager when not serving was sitting with friends and swearing virtually every other word was the F word. There was a young family in the front room but that didn't seem to matter to her she just carried on. Don't think we will be going again and will tell everyone we know not to go unless they don't mind bad language.

Provided a warm and friendly haven for us at the end of a very damp day. We were cold and hungry. Nothing was too much trouble for them especially with catering for the two children in our party. We enjoyed a lovely meal and would visit more often if we didn’t live so far away.

Lovely Yorkshire pub, friendly and chatty staff, nice local brew on tap.

Fabulous place for lunch which not only is dog friendly but serves a full menu at lunchtime in the centre of Leyburn.Ignore previous reviews about "overcooked chips"! I knew as soon as I saw them these were twice cooked chips, was very excited and they lived up to my expectations. The burger was also huge and very tasty.Food was served quickly, staff were very friendly and efficient and decor was very clean and appealing too.Just a shame the husband wasn't with us to sample the fare, oh well an excuse for a return visit soon then ;-)

Overall disappointing experience, on ordering drinks there was only one rose wine available (Zinfandel) no blush which was disappointing. We ordered food which was average. The food arrived quickly & the chilli was warm not hot . Portions were generous. The place lacked atmosphere. Will not be revisiting.

We arrived just before 5pm and it was very quiet. My initial thought was we should maybe try somewhere else, and after a few words with the bar staff my opinion on that matter was only reinforced. But, it was wet outside and the staff had probably had a long day, so we decided to stay. What Good luck!! The food and service were outstanding, the attention to detail from the chef was apparent, and the young girl who looked after us was a pleasure. So thank you, we'll definitely return.

A nice, clean pub with friendly staff and plenty of choice. Loads of space/tables inside and out. It was the perfect place for us to sit and have a pint of proper bitter (and a cider) after our day out in North Yorkshire.

A very pleasant surprise!Got back to leyburn on a later bus than planned so had a quick look at the menu on the exterior board. 2 main meal veggie options and plenty of well spaced outdoor tables.Ordered at the bar (sweet potato curry with rice AND chips) for a very fair price. Food arrived very quickly, nicely presented and piping hot. Portions were generous and tasted great.Give it a try, you won't regret it.
