When we booked this as a place to stay we knew we were only staying one night. We were extremely impressed, every details was taken care of. A magnifying mirror, plugs in places you could use for the hair dryer, in front of a mirror no less. Without a doubt the best b&b we have ever stayed in. A women's touch we think.

Charming pub. Always full of locals. Center of town. Good beer. Nice beer garden to back. Kid and dog friendly.

We've just had a couple of nights at the Countryman's Inn, Hunton. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's a lovely location and very quiet for a restful experience. Our dogs were made to feel part of the experience and they loved walking around the village. We're definitely coming back!

Fantastic little pub, I was made to feel so welcome during my 3 night stay recently. I will most definitely use the place again should I be up that way with work.

Cracking village pub with some excellent ales. Friendly landlord and customers. I would definitely revisit if I am in the area again.

Very warm welcome, spotlessly clean, great food, sensibly priced, good selection of beer. All you want of a country pub.

This review is for the guest accommodation at the country man’s inn, and not for the pub.We stayed at the countryman’s inn after a week of travelling and camping. We were caving in the area the next morning, so the countryman’s inn ticked all the boxes for us - a nice extra large bed, and a telly - luxuries when you’ve spent the last seven nights sleeping on squashy airbeds and washing in dank shower blocks. The accommodation here is basic but it’s enough for a night’s rest. The pub doesn’t serve food (I presume it did in the past) so there wasn’t any opportunity for an evening meal or cooked breakfast sadly and it’s in a very remote location - the nearest place to eat is a 2 mile drive, assuming they have a table. We weren’t able to get in at short notice, and instead drove to Bedale (5 miles away) and ate the Taste of India (also reviewed). Keep this in mind if you’re planning to stay here - as you will need to organise something for dinner etc. That said the Inn did provide a basic breakfast of cereal bars, instant porridge and fruit in the room, as well as a few other snacks and the usual teas etc.We stayed in the Jack Berry MBE suite - which has a large bed, an en-suite bathroom and a flat screen tv. Despite what the website says, this is not a “smart” tv and does not support any streaming services like Netflix etc. It’s true the remote control has a button labelled smart hub, but the feature is not supported on this particular model of tv and the tv does not have any means of connecting to the internet, wirelessly or otherwise. We were slightly disappointed to discover this, as watching some on demand shows was going to be a treat after 7 days camping - but we made use of the free WiFi and watched things on our phones instead. The rooms are situated over a bustling village pub and you can hear conversations from below, from about 5pm to a little past midnight. If this kind of thing bothers you, bring some noise cancelling headphones or dig out the ear plugs you got on that flight a few years ago!Talking of noise, we were glad we had the whole inn to ourselves that evening, as there is a macerater unit installed behind the toilet which activates whenever the toilet is flushed, or the sink or bath are drained. It’s a necessary device to protect the inn’s plumbing, but its quite loud when it kicks off and would most probably wake other guests and any light-sleepers in your room.Overall, a good nights stay - pity about the lack of food but it’s not uncommon at the moment due to staff shortages.
