Very nice pub with history.Staff welcoming and friendly, happy to help. The Drovers pie is to die for, AMAZING !Absolutely jammed with beef of good quality, very generous portions too.The sticky toffee pudding is awesome, again generous sized portion that leaves you wanting more although you couldn't eat anymore.Sells local brewed ale.Highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Nice meal, steak pie, generous portions. It would be nice to see a pointers/references in this pub as to where All Creatures Great and Small was filmed as this was the original pub used in the TV show.

My husband and I stumbled across this pub on our walk through Askrigg and it turned out to be our favourite pub of the trip! The food was delicious (especially the burger!), great selection of local ales and the Staff were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning!

Caveated 5. Stay has been lovely, rooms very well furnished, evening meal in the bar was delicious, served up by very pleasant professional staff. Caveat is the breakfast was just, both quality and presentation, ok 3/5. The weak link in the stay. Wouldn't let it ruin my stay though.

Whilst my chicken bacon and mayo sandwich was very nice, my friends tuna and jacket potato was not. The potato skin was as hard as a rock and the tuna was very dry with hardly any cheese. Must say very disappointed withe the meal but gin and tonic was good.

Very friendly staffCosy central bar area with open fireGood pool table (and TV) in the back which always seemed to be freeRestaurant area at the front which we had dinner in one night - food was great. Make sure to book ahead though as it was very busy when we were there over new yearLarge gin and whisky selection, no tequila!

Beautiful food and a lovely local pub. Reccomend calling them to book in advance if wanting to eat, as tables fill up quickly and walk ins may not be possible. We had steak and ale pie, hunters chicken, and a side of onion rings. All food was absolutely beautiful!

A nice cosy little pub in the picturesque village of Askrigg. Famous for being the original setting of All Creatures Great and Small. Worth a visit to village if you are in the area 🤗

Fabulous setting. Friendly staff. We arrived just before the kitchen closed (2mins) but they still sorted us out and it was very good too.
