We had a lovely meal on saturday.The lasagne was very tasty and my partner had the steak and ale pie.the landlord and staff very nice

Whilst staying in Bainbridge for 4 nights my partner and I didn't stay here, but we ate our 4 evening meals here. Generally we both found the food on offer absolutely spot on. The menu is simple and straightforward, and the food is fabulous, hearty pub grub with generous portions making it great for the price. I ate a different option each night: large Yorkshire pud and roast beef, scampi, chicken & mushroom pie, haddock and chips. Everything was excellent along with very tasty soup and desserts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the pub had a really good atmosphere about it. There was something on the final night (no details to be given) for which the hosts and chef went above and beyond to accommodate us and we can't thank them enough. For anyone staying in the village this is a great place to grab an evening meal without having to travel out.

Faultless. Rob the landlord went out of his way on a busy night to accommodate us at short notice in the motor home. The evening meal and breakfast which was offered to us were perfect not to mention the conversations regarding the history of this very old coaching house which is set in beautiful countryside. Would definitely stay again when in the area, and would highly recommend. Angela, Nigel & Vizslas!

Beautiful setting but food served after 18:00

Very old Inn, pies and food are home made and fab good selection of beers lovely helpful and friendly staff for the food and atmosphere I would give it 5 but the room was very tired and I can see that if all the work that's needed was done it may spoil the 18th century pub locals in the bar were very friendly would recommend eat and drink but check room before you stay

Very accommodating cheerful staff. Only had a drink here, its at the top of the beautiful village. Good place to sit, drink and watch the world go by.

We only went for a meal, which was excellent and good value. It's a proper dales pub, so expect hearty food and a warm dales reception.

Rob is great. The food was lovely and the fire was fantastic. What more do you want when getting out of the cold at the end of a long day. Will be back!

Review for food and drink.We called in here after a days walking and the landlord made extra efforts to ensure he accommodated us. A family of 4 sat near the fire to dry out.In summary an honest dales pub, good beer, good food, great music!Friendly staff!
