We have been holidaying locally & The Wyvill Arms was recommended where we have been staying.Starting with the phone call to make a booking, we were greeted with a friendly voice and this carried on with our experience at the restaurant. The service was extremely attentive - nothing was too much trouble. The food - amazing. My wife and I both had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Our children had fish courses and they were delicious too.The desserts were amazing - with generous portions. We had our small dog on holiday with us and there was a lovely seating area for us. There is also a separate seating area where dogs are not allowed so all are catered for!We thoroughly recommend The Wyvill Arms if you love great food and a friendly, attentive service!More

Looks lovely. Only popped in for a pint but the food smelled tempting and the bar staff were attentive and friendly.

Feels more like a restaurant with rooms than a village pub, but definitely a "home from home". Delicious menu, featuring a good range including Nigel's famed steaks and some daily specials, all served in very generous Yorkshire portions. Characterful and comfortable rooms, and a fabulously attentive and friendly team, who definitely go the extra mile to look after their guests. We'll be back!

Great service and lovely food. Slightly pricey but the dining experience was worth it. However Jimmy the train not running was a let down. We look forward ro returning and seeing the train working.

Nice secluded North Yorkshire pub in the countryside. Very nice rooms with 3 deluxe rooms a few standard rooms. Dog enjoyed his stay as its dog friendly.

Booked only yesterday for Sunday lunch today, managed to get us a table for threeThe staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble. The food was absolutely lovely especially the puddings.Maybe a bit pricey but at the same time I don’t mind paying if the food and service is good. Will definitely be returning, with our motorhome next time as they do free overnight parking with electric if you have a meal.

I only stayed 1 night and have never been there before, but I look forward to going again!. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I was treated like a "regular".Everyone and everything was perfect. The room was not modern, but perfectly comfortable ...clean ...Period ...4 poster bed ..heavy curtains. The shower was really really good . The food ...now I am a fussy "get" when it comes to steak ...I like it very well done ....not burnt. I normally have to send steak back for it being under cooked or chew away at hard steak. This steak was perfect in every way ..starting with advice from the waitress on what would work best to the sauce that topped the steak ...also there was enough sauce to cover the steak and the chips and the peas!!! All proper portions ! Breakfast was excellent and again a proper portion. The team were superb , making me feel welcome every step of the wayThe chef even told me the recipie for the sauce ...which was red wine and bacon -titled the black jack ! Thank you to all the team!!!
