Beautiful Sunday dinner, a good Yorkshire plateful, the beef was tender and well cooked, veg good and gravy delicious. My only slight criticisms are, the food could have been a little hotter and service just a bit more slick, apart from that I would highly recommend.. we will be going back there soon.

I would high recommend this pub if you want a nice relaxed visit with great quality food and service. 😊We popped in for lunch Monday afternoon and had a great experience. We sat in the snug area which was nice and quiet with lots of room. We had the steak and ale pie which was the best quality pie I've had, make sure you're hungry as the portion is nice and big! Our table also had the fish & chip in which it was thoughtfully enjoyed. We also ordered off the childrens menu and the portion size was very generous too. The service was fab, quick and very friendly making sure we had everything we needed. Also everything was so clean! The toilets, baby change facilities and high chair were very clean and safe. The only thing I would say which needs improving is the website needs updating when things change as the menu was different to the one in the pub and the staff memeber said it changed 2 weeks before so not very fast updating. Thanks! 😊

Really like this place, however we booked a table for 3 P.M. on Sunday 3rd April, we arrived a little early so got drinks and stood near the bar, when it was time for our table my partner went to the bar and was told our table was by the door where 2 ladies were sat putting the world to rights. The table was clearly marked RESERVED so we just sat down, they had no intention of moving and it would appear that they hadn't been told the table was reserved. When my partner went to order food she complained about the 2 sat there and eventually someone came and told them the table was reserved. Surely someone should have made it clear to them the table was RESERVED and we shouldn't have been put in that situation.

Just popped in for a quick drink while out on a walk and everything was good. Nice outdoor seating areas and the menu looked good.

Lovely Sunday roast, succulent chicken and fresh veg , followed by chocolate brownie 😋

We ate here tonight with friends. It's the first time I've been in this pub. We pre-booked a table, it's a good job the place was rammed. The table was only set for two people so the waitress had to quickly set 2 more places. Three of us ordered steak and ale pie and one ordered duck breast. The food arrived relatively quickly and was hot and tasty with really good portion size. My husband ordered cheesecake and he enjoyed it. I had hot chocolate and my friend had coffee and mince pie. Prices were a little on the steep side. Apparently the gents toilets were disgraceful, dirty and smelly. The ladies toilets were better but could certainly do with some repairs and a refresh. The car park was busy and it's a little tight on turning space. When it came to making payment the chip and pin machine had run out of charge so we had to go to the bar so that the machine could be used quickly near the charger this was a bit of a trauma because the staff couldn't reach the charging port it was too high so they fetched a stool to stand on. Overall a bit disorganised and we won't be rushing back.

What a lovely place, great decor and brilliant staff. Had a lunch with my Mum. Staff were friendly and other guests welcoming. Food was good, very large portions and tasty. Best onion rings ever!! Will visit again when back in the area.

Excellent service and food was lovely great choices for my food intolerances

Pick here for Sunday lunch as they had plenty of outdoor space. Excellent meal but was disappointed that no one working for the pub had a mask on. We didn't feel comfortable and probably won't go again.

A very quaint and large old village pub. If you want the feel of a quintessential country pub set amongst beautiful surroundings then this is the place to come!! But expect to pay a slightly higher price for beverages etc.
