The Golden Ball Inn in Rotherham

The pub was clean and looked nice,the staff were busy but friendly. It would have been better if we had been informed there was no crackling as we were served, yet the people served ten minutes later got crackling. we were not told chicken was replacing the turkey. The staff were very busy and if they hadn't been, we would have asked them to bring hotter food and roast potatoes that were not so burnt.

Service was out standing but the food was not what we ordered asked for well done steak but presented medium rare and partner ordered medium rare and got rare without side order that we ordered with the meal.

Lovely place nice staff and the food was nice and well presented.

Nice atmosphere (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2), but food was way overpriced - gastro pub prices for overcooked pub grub. £25 for a week night meal, but sadly the quality of food wasn't reflected in the price. 🍲👎

£13.50 for this rubbish how the chef could possibly even think to let this go out the kitchen is beside me.. I won’t be coming back in a hurry..

Great service but... One honest mistake - no chicken on the Cajun chicken pizza (chicken supplied later after mistake was pointed out). One dishonest mistake - staff member reviewing that the triple cooked chips justified by the fact that the chips were 1) Cut from a potato by the manufacturer, 2) Blanched and frozen by the manufacturer, before being sent to the pub, 3) Deep fried by the pub. That to most restaurants is frozen chips, not the far superior item known as triple cooked chips. I was offered some crispier frozen chips, but that would not have made them what was on the menu. Finally, no suggestion of a reduction for either mistake. If all that's fine by you, go ahead and eat at the Golden Ball.

Lovely meal. I ordered slow cooked beef ...it's one of the best dishes I've ever been served....so tasty. My husband has fish and chips, he wasn't as satisfied with his dish, the fish was lost in the batter and lacked flavour. The flower pot sweet was a work of art...you could even eat the plant pot made of white chocolate. However not to my taste..it felt wierd to eat and very sweet. Prices are a little steep. The waitress was lovely and advised us to download the app and we received a 20% reduction on our bill. We will definately return.

Pretty disappointed as this is the third time bad food has been served to me, I choose to come here and spend my money but the food was inedible. Please see photos and make your own minds up. Beautiful pub, great location, nice staff but when I am hungry and get let down multiple times unfortunately I have to be honest. I tried contacting them weeks ago to resolve without leaving a review but unfortunately I was ignored. The food was not cooked and over priced for what it is. Sorry guys but I am not sure what is going on in that kitchen. The amount of flour on the base of the soggy pizza put me off my pint and I left within minutes.

Amazing food, tasty hot and freshly cooked, more than a pub chain pub but you only get what you pay for 😋. Nice friendly staff. A little bit of the country side in Rotherham. Thankyou. See you again soon 👍
